Before the appointment I was very OK with mourinho coming. Now he's here I am happier with it each day. I wasn't anti poch and really did and do like mauricio, I just want to see us win things. Jose is THE man for that. I think trophy this season is likely.

Absolutely buzzing about the Mourinho appointment! Not just because of the obvious winning mentality that he will instill around the place, but he seems to be giving off a different vibe! It's as if he's matured as a coach himself and is ready and focused for a new challenge, and I'm glad it's us he's chosen! Up the Spurs!!
If this gives the players a new lease of life I'm all for it. If we no longer have double training sessions that lead to fully-packed physio rooms, or whatever the problem was there... if we no longer have the players feeling like they're living claustrophobic existences, then I'm all for it... And if it's underpinned by a new player recruitment strategy, I'm all for it.

It just feels weird, atm.

live updates on independent.co.uk/sport/football/live/tottenham-jose-mourinho-press-conference-live-new-manager-pochettino-a9212051.html is the best I can find

From Darren Fletcher:

"I know for a fact that when he left United he did a little bit of reflecting and asked a few people to tell him what he was like, to give him the truth, to give it to him straight, and that, for me, is a sign of somebody who realised he went a little bit too far.

I'm sure he had his own frustrations with Manchester United, just as many as the players and people had towards him.
"You could see towards the end from both points of view, but the fact that he was asking people for an honest opinion of what he was like says to me that it's someone who is reflecting.

A little bit of a rest and a bit of reflection, I think we'll see a different Jose Mourinho.
I don't know whether it will be the Jose of old but I don't expect it to be the Jose we have seen for the last couple of years."

I thought sky were going to be showing the press conference live with the amount of build up they’ve given it. It appears not.

I'm personally excited, I'd written off this season but I'm looking forward to a new chapter under Mourinho.

For every negative people throw at him I feel there's another side. The "he always need money argument" can be countered with his success at Porto and for the "he plays boring football" one you can tell people to look at the Chelsea side with Robben, Duff, Cole, Drogba & Lampard where Chelsea got over 90 points in the league for 2 seasons on the bounce.

They also scored 72 goals in both 04/05 and 05/06... We've scored 74 in 17/18 and 67 in 18/19.

He has an unbelievable record of winning things wherever he goes but the past is the past and he's inheriting a much better squad than he did at United. I only care about what he does for us now and will back him 100% and hope he's the one to finally take us to the next level.

Mourinho starts with some praise for his predecessor. He says: “Mauricio, for the work he did, this club will be always his home.
“He can come when he wants. When he miss the players, when he miss the people he work with. The door is always open for him. He will find happiness again. He will find a great club again. He will have a great future.”
