It’s extremely tough for a manager to last over 5 years in one job now, not to mention 15. It’s just too demanding, too draining.
Both Sir Alex and Arsene did it. If you got the backing from the overheads and they are always pushing in the direction you want to go. Why not? Jose looks happy at us. More so when he was at utd and we will probably be the last team he manages in the premier league so he will probably want to stay and build his dynasty.

Fact is mourinho is actually really likeable now we got to see him on all or nothing. He’s just genuine, real and plays upto the camera only, but in private you can see the players simply idolise him and want to do everything to please him. With everyone pushing in the same direction of Mourinhos philosophy I can see us going on to win a lot of trophies! He looks happy and is also happy with the structure of the club I really hope this can go on for the next 15 or so years before he retires.

I think he’s always been like this in private, hence why the overall majority of his players past and present love him. It’s just there’s so many people in the media who dislike him and try and manipulate the fans into thinking the same. Sure he hasn’t helped himself with his abrasiveness in press conferences and interviews on occasion but I think that’s usually due to a lack or respect towards him or him trying to divert the attention into him after a bad result or performance.

To be fair I don’t think poking a member of the opposition coaching staff in the eye helped matters :D.

Link? Would love to watch
Is that from an article or post, can you post it if so?
Sorry, I should have sent with the original post.

It is in Portuguese but I think you should be able to get the idea from the editing.

I like that Jose is bringing up the overuse of our players and the lack of respect I recall one international break where we had a big game on the sat or sun and all our players played but no Pool or United players of course I am called paranoid but when its a recurring theme it feels more like common sense than paranoia . Never the less keep on reminding them Jose please .

Absolutely . Its not high in many National team managers' priorities to be concerned with how fit a player is when he goes back to his club.
Pressurising National team managers to respect overplayed players is Jose paying attention to detail . Sort of thing we'd never do in the past .

Great we have someone like this our corner imo.

Yeah, but this time it's different. This is not like Chelsea, Madrid or Inter who saw an outstanding coach and went with all their force to get him, this time around he was the one who may have approached the club. You may have seen how highly he was speaking of us during his job as a football commentator, or how he was spotted watching us play from the stands.

He and his family are settled in London, and the club is in an upward trajectory (unlike his past three clubs, who kinda were already at the top of the world in terms of growth). Maybe I'm just deluding myself, but it totally feels like Mourinho is looking at us like a long term job.

I'd love him to eclipse his time at Chelsea with us, both in terms of longevity and titles - finally get that 3rd Champions League as well. I'm not going to get too carried away just yet though.

great stuff. perhaps there should be a tactical analysis thread. i have run into a Serbian, Polish and US based consultant whose analyses are fantastic. one of then was about Dominic Calvert Lewins movement Both off the ball as well as how he created gaps 1 on 1. ( Disguising intent of movement thru body contact and feigned puntuated runs) I can't remember the last time a pundit intelligently talked about the little things that forwards do so seeing someone explain the tradecraft was amazing

I never ever make predictions pre/mid-season but I genuinely believe we'll win a trophy this season. There's something about the atmosphere at the club, the style of football, the squad and purely having Jose at the helm. It's got that vibe.

Thanks for posting that second video. Mourinho is up there with Clough as the most charismatic and fascinating manager around.

Yeah, that's how heartbreaks often start.

Great to see the boys happily messing around in the background . Bale looks well integrated already , couldn't be further from the
long faced, isolated figure he cut at RM (y)
