Nuno’s a decent shout and tbh probably about our level.
No thanks. Don't think he'd be a good fit. Not saying he's a bad coach but the next coach has to be more about high energy and attack minded, that's not really Nuno.

I wouldn't be surprised if we did indeed approach Rodgers. Not that I like him but at least he knows the league inside out, works great with youth and is attack minded......he can bring Leicester's recruitment with him.

Rodgers would be the ideal appointment but doubt could convince him to leave Leicester

I don’t think it’s out of the realms of possibility. He’s an ambitious guy and we have a higher ceiling than Leicester. I could see him taking it if Levy tickled his ego. Leicester aren’t winning the league this season and he will know that.

Assuming Levy doesn’t sack Mourinho and gives him until the end of the season irregardless of if we win a trophy or finish in the top 6, we could be facing a summer where:
  1. Lloris has one year left on his contract and has had enough. Leaving us with a giant hole in goal.
  2. Reguilon is desperate to return to Real Madrid and they activate his buy back clause leaving us with Davies who isn’t even good enough to be our back up.
  3. We need a commanding, genuinely world class centre back with no money to buy one due to a poor league performance and lack of fans in the stadium.
  4. Aurier, whether you love him or hate him, has been our best right back but he’s now desperate to leave but struggles to find suitors because Jose has thrown him under a bus, and:
  5. Doherty struggles to find suitors because he’s dog shit. Leaving us with an unhappy player with a year left and an obscenely poor player completely out of his depth. Can we justifiably buy another right back in this instance?
  6. Ndombele realises he made a huge mistake and pushes for a move elsewhere
  7. Gareth Bale returns to Real Madrid with his tail between his legs
  8. Dele Alli kicks up a stink and demands a transfer
  9. Heung Min Son refuses to sign a new contract due to a complete lack of ambition, and similarly:
  10. Kane wants to leave to actually win the silverware he deserves whilst also having to deal with the inevitable fact that:
  11. Vinicius returns to Benfica leaving us in the strikingly familiar situation of needing a striker to back up Kane.

    The future is bright, innit?
So what you're saying is sack Mourinho now? Good, I'm in where do I sign?

Perhaps. But if you look across the board, there have been bizarre and unexpected results all over the place. The better sides, with higher quality have started to settle. Spurs currently sit 6th, still within reach of the coveted champs league.

Personally, I thought the side would be worse off.

I agree the football is worse (actually awful) to watch than I thought it would be. But overall, the league position and Cup runs are exceeding my own expectations.

This side was a decent CB away from even more.

I appreciate I'm in a minority, but I think he should be backed In rooting out the 'issues' and naysayers.

Anyway.

I thought the same three or four weeks ago but I’m not sure he can do it.

So how did he manage to win all those trophies at Porto, Chelsea, Inter, Madrid, United if they were all too scared to perform.

Maybe Jose needs a Fluffer in the dressing room :)

Jose has to shoulder plenty of blame but the players are weak mentally. Most of them couldn't hold a candle to even the most average players in his top sides.

Cheque books. Really, really big cheque books.

There's not secret to Jose's success. He buys the best forwards he can and then sets the side up not to lose. As long as his elite forwards do their thing, he wins. Read about his time in Madrid. Its fascinating. No attacking plan whatsoever.

Used to be a time I’d only miss a game for a wedding or a funeral. I didn’t even know we were playing Brighton until this evening, and I didn’t bother switching on. Total apathy.

this is wrong. He didn’t buy success at Porto or Inter. He used to be a world class manager. No question about it. The truth is he isn’t anymore and has been suffering from diminishing returns since he went to Madrid.

Sadly those are direct quotes from Five Live. Didn't even paraphrase.
He said the same on Sky. He looked devoid of ideas as If the flame has gone out. I actually liked peak Jose but he looks like a shadow of that man. Football has moved on but he has one style of playing and it is failing. It’s not all him, the remnants of Poch’s squad are not good enough in the main with a lot of the same failings. However as the manager the buck stops with him.

No chance mid-season.

The manager is the problem. Or to be more accurate, he's our biggest problem. There are problems with the squad but they are fixable.
It would be richy ironic if we look back in a few months time and reflect that our last 3 trophies were won by Graham, Ramos and Jose!

The issue wasn’t not attacking. It never really has been. It’s been set piece defending. The problem is when forced to attack, there is ZERO structure. If we don’t get the first goal, and the other team can sit back. There is no sort of possession routine, there is no structure to keep the ball and move into dangerous attacking zones. The team looks like it hasn’t played with each other before when we’re stuck with the task of building the play. It’s most likely because they haven’t been introduced to any sort of structure when in possession.
Saying this, IF he wins us a trophy, carabao, Europa, fa cup. The season is a success for me and he gets a pass on the football because results and trophies is the purpose of football for me. But for THIS SEASON only. He’s succeeded because of world class attackers at his disposal who can create regardless of structure and his ability to set up his teams to keep the other team out. The issue is the defence has been made to look good because of the setup, but when the defence isn’t good enough to keep the opposition out, the way to win the Jose way goes out the window. I really want him to be able to bring in defenders he wants, but if he can’t or won’t be provided that opportunity, it would probably be best to part ways after the season unless we turn it around. It’s sad because if we don’t win a trophy I don’t think anyone else gives us a better chance at doing so with these central defenders. They’re either aging, not good enough, not alert enough, or too inexperienced. There’s no partnership that can be the base for success. Regardless of the manager, that has to be #1 priority in the summer.

If Levy sacks Mourinho he has to step away from the football side of the club including transfers.

He consistently snatches defeat from the jaws of victory and he’s proven beyond doubt that he’s part of the problem.

Which is why I doubt he’ll sack Mourinho.
