So if we win against Chelsea will we be on to the manic phase of manic-depression or will we still be talking up other managers?

My biggest problem is lack of movement and for me it is more important when playing what is basically defensive football .
When you gain possession there must be players willing to make runs up front or from midfield all I see us us getting possession and because players are not making runs the play becomes static .
Now are they being told not to make forward runs and concentrate on their defensive duties or are they being told to make runs when we gain possession but not doing so in either case it is worrying because nobody is making forward runs out of either fear or non commitment .
The whole way we play is worrying and I cannot see any future as a fan sitting down to watch paint dry metaphorically.

Can you please refrain from posting that wannabee football hipster on this forum. Him and that other clown Windy have had a clear agenda since day 1. They said they'd find it hard to even enjoy a cup final win under Jose. Both twats.
A disgrace to our fan base. Go and follow RB Salzburg if you want entertaining football and unknown talents

No he hasn’t and my point is where is the all this talk players keep on throwing their toys out of the pram coming from. Even if he did leave at half who knows what was said or what happened in the changing room. He hasn’t done anything like this before. What other incidences have there been with other players?
Ohhhhhhhh, I see. You've been waiting for me to make some statement that you'll attempt to dissect? Right. With you now.

Well done you.

Thursday will tell us alot. If we come out fighting and put in a performance, regardless of the result, then that could be encouraging.

However I just can't see it. Unfortunately we just don't create any chances, we have no style of play, and on the last two games, a total lack of effort. It would be surprising to see us turn that around now. Chelsea will completely boss us possession wise, we will be pinned back all game, and we will just try to counter occassionally. The only way I see us winning is if Son scores one of only (max 2) counter attacks we manage to string together in the whole 90 minutes and Chelsea have a disaster in front of goal.

Even in the good times earlier in the season, we never imposed ourselves on teams, and our chance conversion ratio was unsustainable. The metrics suggested it would fall off and we would be in trouble, and so it has proved.

With regards to holding the players accountable, I think we all agree that we have players who should have been sold a long time ago. The likes of Davies, Sanchez, Dier, Winks, Lamela, Alli and Moura are clearly not good enough. The fact Levy refused to sell Alli, I understand if he did that because Alli wouldn't fetch a high enough price in the pandemic, or he was worried about leaving the squad short, but he still should have backed the manager. I am not comfortable with Levy over ruling our manager in football matters like this. One of the few good things Jose has done is see the reality that Alli should not be a starter at Spurs any longer.

However, despite the weak players in our squad, Jose should be getting more out of them. That other managers in the league are getting far better performances out of players at the same level or worse than ours, is a serious question mark.

Brighton, Villa, Leicester, Southampton, West Ham and even Palace have played better football than us all season, consistently too.

That doesn't include our top four rivals, like Liverpool, United, City and Chelsea who all played better football than us for large parts of the season. For all of Lampard's issues, I enjoyed watching them play far more than us. You may argue Jose's results were slightly better for us, (barely), but that doesn't make up for the appaling football week in and week out.

For these reasons, I feel Jose should go unless he turns it around (both in performance/playing style and results) starting immediately.

I’m not attempting to dissect any kind of statement just wanted to know where all the talk of our players throwing their toys out of the pram is coming from.

It really is quite unbelievable. Total lack of movement from so many of our players, the thing is it was like this towards the end of Poch's reign and it has happened this season under Jose. I can only conclude, that the lack of movement is a symptom of the players simply giving up and not trying. It's a motivation issue. Another issue is the total inability of our players to string three passes together.

We never used to be a one man team, when Pep called us the Kane team it was actually unfair, we weren't. However under Jose we totally now are, and that is really worrying now he is injured. Kane is the creator and finisher (ablely assisted by Son), we really do have nothing else to offer going forward without him. Teams have learnt to disrupt our tactics by marking Kane to stop him turning and passing, and we have little else to offer. Worrying times.

I agree, just getting a CB isn’t going to solve our problems. You can add a right back, defensive midfielder, right sided forward etc
However, it’s the starting point that needs to be fixed first before any manager. Whether that’s with or without Mourinho.

Yeah I can agree with that. Certainly hasn't helped us keeping players we should have moved on.

In our case, appointing Mourinho showed ambition - there was no-one else available who had the same history or stature in the game at the time (if ever). Getting rid of him would speak volumes.

I guarantee, if he leaves without winning anything, yes, there'll be those that will stick the knife into him as the Fallen Special One, but we as a club will be in for a massive amount of flak too. The media and other fans will have a fucking field day with us for being the club that even Mourinho couldn't turn around. And they'll do it regardless of whether he's the main source of our problems or if it's other factors. They won't care. The narrative will be so.

We should all think about that for a few minutes and imagine having to live through it.

And not just us. The players should be thinking about that too before they choose to keep throwing their toys out of the pram. They'll be branded too.

And even if no-one else comes in for Julian 'Dreamboat' Nagelsmann, I'm sure seeing the disaster unfold at White Hart Lane will, at the very least, give him pause too before he makes his mind up as to whether he wants to manage us or not.

We slate Man U for being a basket-case club, but the trajectory we're currently on doesn't make us much better.

Mate we have to listen to the absolute waffle that comes out their mouth regardless of whos at the club or who leaves the club. Christ we saw three months of Kane drawing fouls not long ago.

Either the results start changing or Jose will be gone. Simple as. Don't think Levy is one to let a manager further push us into free fall because we would become the source of ridicule.

If said does happen then hopefully Levy will realise we will need another project manager again. Appointing and making promises to some with the capabilities.

Edit: My crap grammar

I'm not suggesting Levy would either. It was in refutation of the idea that getting rid of Mourinho would in some fashion be a 'big club mentality' type thing to do. The way I believe the press would respond would be indicative of what the general consensus would be. And no-one, literally no-one, would call it a 'big-club' move.

And rightly so.

An attempt to try and defend Mourinho a little bit too: He probably hasn’t got the opportunity and resources he requires to buy the top players he “needs”. When you hire a guy like Mourinho, you must expect expensive transfers. It’s part of the package, I guess. It’s like if you employ an expensive and famous chef from France who likes to work with exclusive and expensive materials, you won’t only hand him some eggs and bacon and cheap meatballs from the freezer and expect gourmet food out of it..

The stupid thing about Mourinho is that he just keeps falling out with players.

He looked so happy and chilled to be back in football but the same situation has come back again.

Most of his firings have come from this issue.

exactly the same as when he was at united. Judging by them tonight, they’ve never looked back on sacking him
