I have a genuine question and am looking at it from a different perspective.

At the start of the season, JM appointed LK as the defensive coach.
Goals that have ve leaked has been through defensive errors and frailties.

Surely Ledders have to assume at least part of the responsibility too.

Is he the right person to "coach" our defense and defenders.

No neg rep pls...let's look at it from this perspective too.

But all those factors you mention aren’t exclusive to us. Everybody has been through similar circumstances, but we’re clearly struggling under him

That’s my point, this situation is affecting people differently. Some people are loving working from home, some people are really struggling. Some players may prefer playing in empty stadiums, some players require that buzz of fans. Same circumstances, but different reactions.

An example, Dele picked his form up directly after Mourinho was appointed and was playing well again with stadiums full. However, after project restart, he has gone back to how he was in his form towards end of Poch days with no fans.

There are loads of half decent options available right now, if they aren't the right person that's fair enough, but there is far from a scarcity of available managers right now. Rather than repeating a list of suggestions for the 100th time, I'll just post this bellow.

See rui faria is available, if the club csnt afford to get rid of mourinho bringing in his trusted right hand man may not be a bad idea.

I don’t get this point of view

I think we can indeed fault the manager for his selection of the back four. Both the selection of dier and Sanchez, and the selection (and rapid withdrawal) of Tanganga at rb.
And on the last point, that’s high level guesswork linked entirely to the selection of some of these players

If we were better with bale in the pitch, then he should be starting! After Thursday I was expecting it tbh.

Isn't it high level guess work that it would be better with another line up?
Its so easy to say afterwards when you know the result but this time it just does not tell the story.
It is probably a lot down to Jose in terms of self confidence of the players but I could understand every single move today:

1. Dier and Sanchez: Pace against West Hams counter attack. I am no fan of either don't try to tell me Toby and Rodon would definitley better choices. There is not one CB right now that is a must start.

2. Tanganga as RB was totally fair and even demanded here because he did well vs City. And with staying more defensive we could give more freedom to Reggie

3. Reguilon coming back from injury and probably does not have energy for 90 minutes running up and down yet. To provide an offensive outlet by the FBs, the only alternative option was Doherty. I am no fan, tactical wise it made sense though.

4. Don't argue Bale is suddenly the solution of everything after having a great game vs WAC just three days ago. we all know he has his fitness issue and I think it was smart just to play him the 2nd half, were the game is about to be decided. Would we have been better without him the last 20/30 minutes when we would have needed to take him off? Doubt it.

We had enough moments today to turn this game to our favour. We lacked confidence in converting chances but I can blame Jose here only in the long run as I said as he may has influenced the confidence of the team with his stuff the last weeks.

But tactic wise I was fine with what I saw today, our defence is still a mess but who on earth could that turn around now?

You can add in the Everton FA Cup defeat to this too. For all the talk about Mourinho being a "big game manager" and how our style is better suited for stronger teams that want to attack us - we've been pretty awful in the big games this season, barring those two games against the Manchester clubs in the early season.

I can’t buy it in the context you’re applying it to- I get your point on a personal level but this type of reasoning could have him at our club for months and months before it was proven wrong, and the wounds from Poch’s departure are still open. We have to move on and soon

He has to be part of the problem but if he is Jose should of moved him or redefined his role. I guess we’ll never know how much involvement he has.

Is that just this season? Or in his whole time with us?

I did some quick maths for this season. In previous seasons like 17/18 the difference was ridiculous. He's clearly not the player he used to be but he's the best of the options we have.

Poch beat Real Madrid at home 3-1 with a defence that comprised of Sanchez this guy who is supposedly so terrible, Davies who we all agree is not as good as Regullion who we have now and a midfield of Winks (who should be sold) and Dier (who is a worse CDM than he is CB which says a lot on his recent form) so this whole argument about the players letting poch down is a bit tired, poch and the squad got burnt out after 5 years of effort and we failed to replace some players but if the aforementioned players above can beat Real Madrid then when you add to that Regullion, PEH, Ndombele, Son then you should sure as hell be doing better than 9th in the league!
That's football it was up there with AC Milan away.

Except he isnt the defensive coach...

Ledley King was appointed First Team Assistant in August, 2020.

He works alongside our coaches, analysts and playing squad both at the Training Centre and on matchdays.

He has also taken on the role of supporting our academy players as they look to step up to the first team.

Just a thought, but how many on here would take finishing below West Ham in say 8th or 9th, losing 3-0 in the League Cup final to moneybags City and somehow squeaking a Europa League Cup final win on penalties.....

Hence why, as much as the results have pained me, I’m set for October to have that evidence where we fingers crossed we have a normal environment come next season.

Like I said, my stance or opinion is obviously not going to be the same as others.

Can't fault Jose for anything today.

Think his subs were smart and we had enough of the game to win it comfortably although we don't know how we would have played when we are level....

The fact he picked his shit love child Dire over Toby ... Jose was at fault before a ball was kicked! Playing him is kamikaze suicide !!!!!

I think everyone here and everyone connected to the club would bite your hands off for that right now. Wouldn't you?

There's really no dilemma there.

Strategy tactics coaching managing fitness quality mistakes implementation following instructions...

Where do we start if you like we can blame Ledley.

Anyone who says they wouldn’t is crazy. That is likely our ceiling this season.

Daniel Levy has to accept the appointment of Jose hasn’t worked & therefore swallow his pride & sack him, I’d love DL to sack himself but that’s sadly never happening, any manager that continues to pick Sanchez & Dier over Toby & Rodon needs to go, I’ll take anyone bar Rafa on an interim until the end of the season & then I’d like to see us appoint Scott Parker
