If we are getting an AM/CF and/or Barkley and we see Barkley as a CM/AM combo then i am on board with a loan for Onomah as long as he goes to a team where he will get gametime... and is Aston Villa that? They have like 90 players which coincidentally is also their average age.

Some game time could be good for him if he isn't going to be featured much here, but not a fan of sending him to Steve fucking Bruce.

Be delighted with this...finally one of this generation of youngsters getting the loan they need. Hoping, if true, this is a change of heart, because CCV and KWP also need competitive minutes imo.

A good loan for Onomah is the best way forward IMHO. Needs some competitive football. Hopefully prove he can play centrally to Poch also.

Not sure Villa is the best choice but they certainly are a big club with a lot of pressure on them next season so won't be a holiday.

Would have preferred someone like Brentford, or maybe Reading, or Swansea if PL was possible but this is interesting if true.

This is my line of thought. The majority of our youngsters that have succeeded in recent times have made over 50 loan appearances and I'm not sure anything quite matches competitive league football for experience. I certainly would like to see others loaned out.
I understand that staying at spurs helps them to be moulded in our style, but hopefully we can find the right loans deals for players, because we're certainly in a position to be picky. This would be my only point of concern with this loan, but the level of club 100% makes sense.

Doesn't get enough minutes in his best position to see how good he may be. He needs a loan, he really hasn't shown anything in the minutes I've seen him play. Even if it was not his preferred position. You have to show enthusiasm and willingness to make an impact. He never did.

Good decision if true, the loan that is, not sure in sending him to villa though.

I'm glad poch has changed his mind on loans. Kane, Walker, rose, Alli, mason, Carroll all got valuable playing time which turned them into proper players.

Onomah has hit a wall here, 5 min cameos here and there are completely useless.

Villa did us a favour when we loaned them a young Kyle Walker. That turned out very well.

I like this move. Just hope he chins John Terry on his way out the door after the season ends.

If true it will be good for him to get regular football, hopefully in his preferred position CM

It seems to me he needs to be playing in the middle of the park, as he did with the U-20's. We have used him primarily on the wing and that is clearly not his position. Villa have a few injuries to the players who normally play in the middle of the park so perhaps there is a logic there. Would rather him have an opportunity for another PL team, but perhaps Villa is the place where he will get the most playing time. Not convinced he is on the level of Winks, but he does deserve to play somewhere so that he can prove himself one way or the other. He just will not get a lot of playing time in this year's Spurs lineup.
