Actually think Steve Bruce is a good manager- has done a decent job with some poor teams. Could be very good for him.

Would be good for him- He is going to a team which will be fighting for the promotion - So atleast there is a clear objective for the team. If he plays a major role in Villa getting promoted , then that will be a huge step forward in his career.

I really hope this is true. I think Poch is right to want to keep players around to develop, but unless they have a major breakthrough like Winks, they're going to stagnate. Just outside the first team and too far beyond the development squads.

I can understand the argument for him to go on loan but it's one less option on the bench which at times last season was already thin. Obviously if Poch doesn't think he's up to it yet then so be it but after dembeles comments recently it's a bit surprising

I think he could cut it at prem level personally, but he'll be in a challenging side and that's a good thing

I think he'll do well

If he gives him lots of games in central midfield.

Obviously I've no time for john terry but having him behind him in a team could be good for josh. Will keep him on his toes and help him through games.

If josh and sissoko are leaving surely we must be bringing in 2 midfielders otherwise we look light in this position with an injury or 2. Dembele will always miss a few games and who knows if lamela will come back strong and stay fit

Onomah hardly played last season, I'm sure TOB can do a similar job

Big ask for a 17 -18 year old if we want to stay in the top 4 or have a good run in the champions league we need quantity and quality

How much do you think Onomah played last season? I doubt be played an hour of pl football

Edit : 92 minutes in pl, I'm sure TOB could cope with that, most of the time he was on the right, we have Edwards that can do that too

Edit: it was actually 17 minutes last season in the pl, 92 minutes is over his career

Good move I reckon. If he can become an integral part of a promotion winning team it will be a huge leap forward in his progression

I think keeping youngsters with the squad until they're 20 and then, if they're not guaranteed starters/first rotation in their best position, loans are the way to go for a year and then reevaluate. Gives Poch the chance to work with them during their key development years but also gives them minutes. Given how we always seem to have another youngster coming through in each position, this would also allow the conveyor belt to keep moving.

Would rather a prem loan tbh but Villa for half a season would be just about the best championship loan for him.

Good luck, hope this loan turns out like rose to sunderland and he really grows into the game and can come back challenging for a first team spot.

Not that convinced he'll play enough games at Villa. Could see him getting cast aside if he performs poorly for a couple of games.

I know some will say that's arguably a good thing but I don't think it is for a loan player. He's desperate for games and needs to be trusted by someone. I'd rather he go somewhere where he's seen as a key player. Having said that if he does play regularly it's a great move for him as Villa are a big club with a lot of expectation from the supporters.
