The article mentions hoping to tie up on Monday, deadline day, which suggests not King as we have until 16th to deal with EFL clubs
While this it’s true, I’m pretty sure if we want him registered for UEFA competition we need to have him by end of Monday.

Has always been one of my preferred choices.

Homegrown
Can play Striker, with Kane and on the Wing
I like pace on players coming off the bench
In 1/2 years time can be overtaken by Parrot

Good point, didn't consider that, just checked and squad registration deadline is midnight next Tuesday so would have to have him in by the first Deadline Day

I think we heard earlier in the window that despite the sales of Wilson and Ake that Bournemouth we’re still in trouble financially. King would therefore make sense and fit with the ITK about us being in a good position to take ‘advantage‘ of clubs desperate to raise funds before the window closes.

Of all the excitement of the strikers we are linked with, this no doubt is abit of a downer...

I would still rather Chris Wood man.. zzz At least we can play with him as a target man. King is like a bigger size Lucas.. ?

It's not necessarily that we worked all summer only to end up on King (if we have). It's more likely that as the Skriniar one moved (a player we may not have expected to be available earlierin the window) we had to go for a cheaper striker. If we get another like Son who can play wide or up top I'm OK with that. It does mean we lack a plan b type to get long balls too though.

Yeah i'd rather Wood or Barnes but he's better than Deeney or nobody.

I think ValenciaYid has just indicated that Josh King might be the one we're going for.

Earlier this morning he posted "Wishful thinking" in response to a shortlist of possible striker targets, and just now added "Clearly no Go West fans in here?????" - a reference to Go West's song "King of Wishful Thinking"

I have to say that is a post of a mad man. (VY post)

We’ll see if this is who Ally Gold is on about when he says we’re close to finally signing one. But i have a feeling it isnt. King was not even name checked by Ally in that piece.

You have to wonder if Bournemouth etc may be holding on to some players where they can, knowing that once the main window closes, if Prem clubs are still looking to fill key roles then the likes of Aarons, Godfrey, Beuendia, Cantwell, King, Brooks, Cook, Rico, Deeney, Sarr, Hughes, Delofeu etc will be much in demand when the pool to shop in just got smaller

I’ve always liked King and have no problem with him being our final signing of the window. I’ve learned not to be greedy under ENIC.

If no ones up for Buying Foyth I think he could be our fifth CB, at least till we pick Skrinny up for less in January...

I see everyone is taking note of VYs caveat that King is a possible, not a definite....

No? Ok, as you were :cautious:

Where did he say that, it wasn't in the bit posted over from TFC earlier as far as I could see, just the Go West bit?

(all transfers are possible until definite)
