That's fair but it wasn't my only point.

No, but as I highlighted in your post it was the point I responded to. I don't know enough about Andersen to say if he's going to be a hit or bust, but your point about not him getting into club sides is also the same case as it was for Alderweireld. Sometimes it's all about timing and fit :)

I think judging a player by not getting into a NT first XI is flawed by default. In the Swedish NT, the coach has more or less refused to play Dejan Kulusevski and other talents like Alexander Isak for long periods of time in favor of car crashes like Marcus Berg and Sebastian Larsson as they offer "experience" and "he knows them". Sancho being completely unable to get a look in at the current Euros being another example.

NT coaches have very little time with their players and often place a very high value on more metrics than talent and ability.

Agree with this, in the Danish National team, Kjær is the captain and thereby claims one of the CB positions. Andreas Christensen can move up into midfield and thereby takes another of the positions. If Denmark starts with three Vestergaard takes the last position on the left, because he is naturally left-footed. The place Andersen would have to take is that of Captain Kjær, and Kjær is in good form and as stated the leader.

I read an interesting piece on our defence and the ideal purchases. The first conclusion was that Rodon is our best defender as neither Dier nor Alderweireld having any stand out attributes. Sanchez was bipolar statistically with some great strengths offset by some really big weaknesses and that wasn't just on the subject of ballplaying.

The article went on to say that ideally Spurs needed a "pure" defender like Skriniar to form a well rounded pair with Rodon, however Tomiyasu was a very strong second choice. Interestingly, Kounde and Botman were rated as being too alike to Rodon to form a reliable partnership with neither of them having strengths to cover Rodon's weaknesses.

Sounds interesting. Do you have a link?

Ally Gold says Tottenham are interested but thinks pricing will probably be an issue.

Nothing real ground breaking there.

Disclaimer: this is a ‘shiiiiiittttt’ like ‘damn I think that’s doable and I’m going to go all-in thinking it’s doable only to know in the back of my head we will never get it over the line and despite knowing that all along when it doesn’t happen it’ll crush me.’

If Levy was willing to take a hit on Sanchez I reckon we could pursue this, but there is no chance he will.

Also I'd be surprised if a host of CL clubs aren't in for Kounde.

If we dont offload either Dier or Sanchez to them i dont see how we can afford him (even with Kane money) And our backline already have really good passing backs with Toby, Davies and Rodon, we need that physical center back that will help us in the 80+ min when teams start to lift long balls and put us pressure. I Have said it before but I really think we should raid Fiorentina right now for Milenkovic. last year of the contract therefore will probably go for 15-20, a steal. With a 3 year contract should be going for at least 45-55m

Andersen-Milenkovic-Toby IMO All of them would be able to play in a back four aswell

Different leagues and the PL is probably the most physically-challenging, but from what I could find his Aerial Duel Success % was basically identical to Ruben Dias’ last year.

I can't see us signing anyone for greater than £25m this summer to be honest.

Very rarely been our style and post Covid more than ever all the noise suggests 2 or 3 Tomiyasu type signings and a couple of departures.

Oddly anything 30m+ would scream Kane sale to me
