Might just be a shit compilation, there are loads of defender compilations which spend half the time showing the goals they've scored, which is obviously not what most people are interested in.

He's a phenomenal 1v1 defender. The bonus with him is his tremendous ability with the ball- we've had almost zero press resistance in the team over the last 2-3 seasons and so the more ball-players we have the better. His ability from the back will open up the game for us imo. But first and foremost his defending is excellent.

There’s all this excitement on here about Kounde. Central defender. 5’ 8”. 178 cm. Very interesting.

He’s 5’10 and very athletic. Just look how many headers Lucas wins because of his leap and it’s not like the league is filled full of dominant aerial threat strikers. He’s clearly a huge talent, great at squaring his man up and defending breaks. Very good with his feet and reads the game well.

178cm = 5 feet 10 inches

Cannavaro was shorter and won the Ballon d'Or
You’re correct.

178 cm = 5’ 10”or 5.83 feet.

Still very small for a central defender. Just compare the height of the two main central defenders for Liverpool, the Manchesters and Leicester. Chelsea play three at the back where a shorter player might be accommodated. At this time NES is playing a back four. A 178 cm central defender in a back four is a recipe for trouble. My opinion of course.

My thoughts exactly, should go for Vestergaard and Burn instead because they're big fuckers

His aerial numbers are pretty decent, so I reckon he probably makes up for his height with technique or has a good leap.

Moura is good in the air, the ability to get off the ground at the right time is the key. Toby's ability to jump has declined, so has Dier's.

Are we STILL discussing his height and aerial ability? Did people not read the first 39 pages of this thread?

Would be absolutely incredible and I’d say we are back in the conversation for Top 4 if we keep Kane.

We should temper are expectations for this season, new DOF, new manager, new coaches, new players need time to gel on and off the pitch.

Painful rebuild.

Yeah. These things take time. Look at Posch’s first season.

Feels like the right foundations are being laid though

Careful questioning his height. I asked about it and was crucified not knowing everything about him including his inside leg measurement!
