That was worthy of sticking him in training with Spurs ladies

I don't see why we don't send him on loan to be honest.

Him, Kaboul, and Taarabt could all do with some premiership experience on loan.

i thought ramos loved him?? tryed to sign him for servilla if i remember rightly??

Ramos had a DOF at Sevilla who signed all the players, so that's a bit of a misnomer, probably perpetuated by the always accurate, impartial and informative English footy press.

think would be good for KPB to go on loan for 6 months next season to a lower premiership team. would be good for him

has not played since that shocking 45 minutes he put in at derby

Oh God I was there don't remind me! What a transformation in the second half after he'd gone off.

And to think he was bought to replace Ghaly.

A DoF who was rated as one of the best in the business so perhaps not unfair to suggest that he's not a complete gimp, however much his performances might suggest otherwise.

I'd at least give him a pre-season for Ramos to assess him. Maybe if Juande thinks he's got something a loan deal to a lower PL club might be a possibility. That way he could get more regular games & improve steadily while we play our better CMs.

He may never be good enough but, as with O'Hara, Kaboul, Taarabt etc. he should be given time to prove one way or another.

Yep, true - I was just pointing out that the fact Sevilla were reputedly interested doesn't mean Juande necessarily wanted/ knew anything about him.

Also, as a counter point, I remember some git named Arnesen, who was pretty well rated too. He bought a fair bit of shit though.

Unfortunately and I get absolutely no satisfaction from saying this, Kevin Prince Boateng reminds me of a very expensive racehorse who was so bad that they never let him run in a public race because his value would drop like a stone!

'Ones for the future' who cost in excess of £5m should be ready for the first team and not kept on the bench, or worse still, in the reserves. If they aren't ready, don't buy them as we, and even the top four, can't justify that sort of outlay when football is a 'want it now' sport! £5.4m and £8m for KPB and Kaboul repectively was too much money for players who could (possibly) do a job in three years time! Maybe Comolli thought they were already good enough for the first team, and if so, his judgement is poor, as we had already guessed. However, I am willing to partially forgive him, given that he signed Bale, who IMO, will be world-class if he stays fit.

Yeah, fair enough. On the Arnesen point, I think that was symptomatic of his scattergun approach to buying players. He bought about a large number of players, usually for very low prices or in swap deals, some of whom survived for a bit & the rest of whom were either sold at a profit or released. So Arnesen's approach was bound to throw up a few duds simply due to the way he worked.

Or course you're right, though - even the shrewdest transfer marketeers (Is that a word? It is now...) buy the odd turkey or two. I'm sure Sir Alex would rather forget Djemba-Djemba, Taibi, Kleberson, Dong Fangzhuo etc.

Its fair enough that Ramos doesn't think he is first team quality yet if guys like Jenas, Zokora, Huddlestone, O'Hara and Tainio are ahead of him but I don't understand that if he fit, why isn't he keeping match fit by playing in the reserves?

First team players usually don't play with reserves (a game here and there, coming back from injury), and it doesn't matter if they are playing a lot or not. Either you are part of the first team and train and play and do everything with them or you are part of the reserve squad, or part of the youth squad.

Is too soon for KPB. Let's give him a bit of a go first, I say. He falls in the same category as Kaboul, for me. Brought in as one for the future, yet circumstances conspired otherwise and we had no choice but to play in midfield. I think O'Hara's recall has moved him down the pecking order. But he'll definitely be around and play more of a part after a pre-season behind him.

a go first? Round these parts? U must be joking, surely?

One week they're in..

Can't argue with any of that, good post sir.

And Transfer Marketeers - I like.

Thats my feeling too .

Would prefer Ghaly to be rehabilitated (if that were possible) .

KPB looks good when he runs and has a bit of presence but I can't see him really stepping up so why postpone the innevitable ?

Kindest thing for KPB is to play him a bit to get him in the shop window and sell him in the Summer .

Personally I'm all for giving him time, but from what I've seen so far, he has the body language of a street brawler, not a footballer. I actually think it's quite funny, and wonder if he sometimes has to curb himself from screaming

'Come on theeeeeeen! Who fucking wants some?'

when coming on.

I think we've been stitched up with Boateng.

Wonder if Southampton fans thought they should give Ali Dia more time....

he will be out the door in the summer. If as expected we buy a couple of quality central midfielders he will be so far down the list that he may not make the reserve side. I know he is young and moved to a knew league ect ect but your first touch is still the same touch regardless of what league your in - and his touch is awful. He has shown absolutely nothing except constant fouls
