Yes, and who has Ramos constantly picked as his first choice (in Ledley's absence) alongside Woody? It annoys me no end that Dawson still seems to need someone to hold his hand, because he hardly counts as an inexperienced kid any longer—but, notwithstanding the near-certainty that he'll drop a clanger just about every game, he does the basics of playing at CB better than Kaboul.

Kaboul's done for himself anyway.

But to be fair to Kaboul, I don't think he once got to play next to King or Woodgate. His best game was probably pompey away next to......Zokora.

I would really love to have seen him just given a handful of games next to Woodgate to see whether he could have learnt something.

I seem to remember there was also a game in which he played alongside Chimbonda and did well (or am I confusing Chimbonda and Zokora here?). People were certainly commenting on how Chimbonda/Zokora, or both, were talking to him all game.

I'd have liked to have seen him given a chance alongside Woody too, but it seems Ramos has made his choice and stuck with it.

I really think the boy's got talent and I hope the things he's come out with (or been attributed to him) haven't cost him his career with us. Yes, Kaboul's made mistakes, but his control, pace and tackling are pretty darned good. If we don't play him, he can't learn.

If he does go to Pompey, I hope it's on loan for a year as the makeweight in a Diarra swap.

If he goes to Toon, then maybe we'll get Carr back. Or Alan Smith.

Claiming that Ramos has no personalty, doesn't talk to anyone and has made little difference to the team—and there is no getting round the fact that he did say all of these things—is about as effective a way of terminating your Spurs career as I can think of.
