I love this, Perez is an idiot but I do love him, no thought to defense but loves his flair players.

This is ridiculous. He seems to have two sporting directors, Valverde and someone else, Zidane is there as an advisor, they obviously have a manager and he'll always have a say, so five men working together on player recruitment. This is gonna be a wicked summer.

It's a loonybin there.

del Bosque: two league titles, two CLs, most successful manager since the 70s—contract not renewed

Capello: first title since del Bosque—sacked at end of season

Schuster: league title, sacked after 14 games of second season

12 managers in 10 years. They make Spurs look like a model of stability.

I hate them for so many reasons. This is just one.

Another main one is the fact that the casual football fan in my country (Venezuela) support either Barcelona or Real Madrid, but most of them are absolute glory hunters and would jump at the first sign of struggle in their team to someone like Man Utd, like it's happened since the last few years with their recent success in Europe and domestically.

Also journos like AS and MARCA are extreme sensationalists. As bad as the sun.

The team, fans and press are the most delusional, arrogant and intolerant fuckwits

People who say real transfer dealings and football in general are nothing like Football Manager obviously haven't paid enough attention to Real Madrid in the past few years.

They win more cups though, maybe we should get a new manager every 6 months

One (2002). They won 2 under Perez predecessor Lorenzo Sanz (1998,2000).

No, just one under Sanz and one under Perez, both with del Bosque.

In fact, six of their European Cup/CL wins came when I was still in short trousers, and a seventh when I still had hair.

Perez has announced he's tabled a bid for Alonso.
Open tapping up but quite funny cos it'll get to Benitez.
Is he going to get him,Kaka & Ronaldo?
If so Madrid will have players available possibly even Diarra.

Whoever posted that galactico team has filled me with faith that they might not actually be that good next season-any team with Marcelo at left back can pretty much kiss goodbye to any chances of silverware!

No it was 2 under Sanz. They have 9 European Cups, not 8.

"Seventh European Cup
After a less than impressive domestic run, coach Jupp Heynckes led the team to win the very much awaited -last one was in 1966, 32 years earlier- European Cup. The venue: Amsterdam Arena. Date: 20 May 1998. The Merengues conquered their seventh top European trophy with a goal by now Sporting Director Pedja Mijatovic against the Italian side of Juventus, who were the hot favourites that night."

"Eighth European Cup & First Spanish Final
Vicente del Bosque took over John Benjamin Toshack as head coach of Real Madrid in mid-season and spearheaded the Madridistas towards raising their eighth European Cup -second Champions League title. The venue was superb: the newly built Saint-Denis stadium of Paris would host the first ever Spanish final -as well as the first ever final of the European Cup between two teams of the same country- on 24 May 2000. It was a vibrant game which saw Madrid triumph over Valencia with a final 3-0 result. It was the last European Cup of the 20th Century and, as the first one, it belonged to the Whites."

Both under Sanz. Perez was elected that summer and they won the ninth in 2002, beating Leverkusen.

Yes, you're right. I knew it was nine, but for some reason I got it into my head that one was in the 70s.

It still puts most of their wins into the Ancient History Department.
