Both players leave Spurs for pastures new

JD runs down his contract and leaves the club in no position but to sell after stating that he would re sign unless he was guaranteed to be in the team whatever happens

RK signs a new 4 year contract.

JD leaves Spurs for £9m as he only has 18 months on his contract as he refuses to sign another on the last day of the transfer window dragging it out to the last minute 1 week before a cup final.

RK leaves for £20m as he has 4 years on his contract in June with 3 months left to sign a replacement.

JD leaves for Portsmouth

RK leaves for Liverpool

JD is a self confessed Gooner

RK is a Liverpool / Celtic fan

JD is always offside and hugely selfish but can score a great goal or 2 but misses more than he scores.

RK is a team players, runs his socks off, links play and scores great goals.

JD is loved by Spurs fans on this site

RK is hated

I can't understand it at all ?

(ps I love both of them)

Please explain as I just don't get it

JD Wants to play football and isn't getting the chance with keane and berbatov infront so looks elsewhere

RK signs a new 4 year contract, saying that he loves the club and something along the lines of him wanting to stay

JD leaves Spurs for £9m, we had to see as his contract was running down to get the best deal.

RK leaves for £20m as he has 4 years on his contract in June with 3 months left to sign a replacement.

JD leaves for Portsmouth

RK leaves for Liverpool

JD is a self confessed Gooner and still a Yiddo

RK is a Liverpool / Celtic fan

JD is caught offside a lot, but blame must be put on slow ball relese at times. But the way he plays he will always get a good few offsides, all strikers playing on the last man do

RK is more of a team players, runs his socks off (so does Zokora though...), links play and scores great goals moans and shouts at his teammates no matter whos fault it is

JD hated by many spurs fans

RK is labled a Ledgend

I can't understand it at all ?

(ps I love both of them)

Please explain as I just don't get it

always 2 sides to a coin... both side are exaggerated IMHo and there isn't much between them both (although diffrent type of strikers/forwards)

keano was quoted as saying he loved it at spurs and wanted to finish his career here. he then essentially handed in a transfer request 3 months later.
Defoe on the other hand is widely accepted as only leaving cause he, quite rightly, couldnt get in the team.

PPL never like you when you ask to leave.
Plus keanos been a bit crap since he came back.

I believe that Defoe has returned a better player and Keane has not. Keane looked a shadow of his former self but lets hope he can put the scouse nightmare behind him, and return to former glories. I believe we can keep them both happy!

Fans have turned on Keane after his only ever barren period where his presence still had a positive effect on general results by hook or by crook.

I did not BTW. Huge Keane fan.

EG defenses watch Keane, so Modric etc can benefit.

Huge Gio fan too.

Fact: Results got a lot lot better when Keane was in the team. In fact, he scored and created so much in one game that it lifted out whole season upon his return.

Him and Wilson in the team gave us needle when we were in freefall.

I am drunk as hell BTW. COYS!!!!

Keane's best days are behind him and he £20m from Liverpool was a absolute god send. J.D best days are in front of him.

It s as simple as this. I just hope Harry see's it this way.

I think it's because in the past they've been in direct competition for a place in the side so the fans who prefer Defoe seek to undermine Keane and the fans who prefer Keane seek to undermine Defoe. There's plenty of ammunition for both sides so the argument will never end.

Some people do seem to suffer from a childlike innocence when it comes to the football transfer market, feelings of betrayal by the likes of Carrick, Berbatov and Keane just wouldn't surface if similar events happened in other parts of their lives.

Personally I don't support Keane or Defoe, I support Tottenham which to me means supporting Keane and Defoe.

There was so much nonsense on both 'sides' until Jimbo posted. He 'gets' it.

A little later he was quoted as saying "he would stay as long as he felt wanted" .

Notice a trend here ?

Spurs persueing David Villa is a pretty clear sign that Ramos didn't rate Keane and wanted to replace him .

Maybe he would have gone anyway if Liverpool came calling .

As fans we will never know what went on behind the scenes but if anybody deserves the benefit of the doubt then Keano does .

PS it was not the players who made Tottenham Hotspur a bigger joke than Newcastle United at this time .

The surprise is that more of them didn't try and distance themselves from the disaster those cluster f*cks were creating .

Keano has not been crap since he came back.
His performance against Stoke was quite frankly one of the best I've seen and his link up play with Pav was sensational.
He is a great player but had a couple of bad games at the end of the season as he was emotionally drained.

The guy had been on a roller coaster and noticed that the grass isn't always greener. He left us, realised it wasn't what he wanted and came back. He could have gone anywhere but chose to come back home

You really ought to watch more football then. It was a great performance, but best youve ever seen? Modric was better than Keane on the night. And he hasnt had a couple of bad games, they have all been bad minus the Stoke game you are referring too. And, Keane could not have gone anywhere, we were his only real option in January.

It would be nice to have a thread about Keane that does not compare him to Defoe and vice versa.

Inluding the 1 goal and 2 assist performance he put in against Boro? What about being in the right place at the right time to get the last minute equaliser against Sunderland? Or providing Darren Bent with the crucial second goal against Villa? Or even having the nerve to step up and take the penalty against Citeh despite having had a bad game stuck out on the left?

No, you're right, he's been shit since he came back.
