i hope he does!

ssn are as much to blame for whipping up this frenzy, suppose it gives them a story to fill the time instead of the endless repeats of old stories.

Whilst everyone gets all excited about some potential transfer I thought I'd come in here and laugh at the geordies generally.

Keegan will fail. He's not a very good manager. His success early on at Newcastle was built on just attacking as much as possible and it worked for a season until people worked out how to play against it.

For England he was awful, for Man City he was even worse. He hasn't managed for 2 years and was almost appointed Doncaster manager last year (I think). He even said that the Stoke game the other day was the first match he'd seen live in over a year or something.

The whole thing is absolutely laughable and it's even more funny watching the barcodes getting so excited about a manager who will ultimately offer them nothing.

Just watched the Toon press conference with Keegan

What a match made in heaven, so much so that it touched my heart.

A city full of deluded wankers now have the return of a deluded wanker so that they can become further deluded. Sky of course lapped it up hailing him as the messiah and Newcastle as the mecca of football whilst he sat there saying the Premiership hasn't changed since he was last the Toon manager. What a bumbling gimp!

Then when asked what football meant to the people of Newcastle he likened it to people in the south going to the theatre, yeah of course Kevin, that's right you ignorant tosser.

Good luck gimp, I hope you get well and truly fucked!

Everybody thinks he will fail. At the very least nobody will be surprised if he does. That has to work in his favour. The Geordies love him and the rest of the country is laughing. I personally don't think he is a bad manager. He didn't do well at City (cos they had shit players) or England (cos they had shit players, but actually played some decent football at times...more so than under other managers with better players).

The Owen situation strikes me as a fairly typical one that occurs with gifted players becoming managers. They expect too much from their top players and as a result alienate them. Stories of Hoddle are fairly similar. While being a decent enough coach, he would turn up to sessions and be able to do things that none of the players could actually do.

I have a feeling Keegan will do well. They will have a lot of money and they really cant get too much worse.

I just caught the back end of that introduction and it was pure theatre.

He is going to have to do more than just have a knob - in before every game - otherwise it's gonna get messy.

All very weird.

The geordies were all acting as though they'd managed to sign a 21 year old George Best or something. Lapping up all the ridiculous propaganda (such as the 'Return of the King' cardboard hats) that the club throw at them.
