I think Poch's interview is him keeping the pressure on Levy.

He clearly wants 3-4 players, and he wants Levy to know that just trying for the players isn't enough.

With him having been so vocal on getting these 3-4 players, I'll be worried about Poch's future if he doesn't get them.
And if Poch leaves there will be a shit storm of epic proportions

Well it would depend on what message is being peddled by Levy to Poch.

If Levy is telling Poch he doesn't have money to spend, then Poch wouldn't be reasonable to go out and demand signings whilst also saying we won't sell players.

However conversely, if Levy has said there's money available and is then simply not doing the deals then Poch would have every right to be pissed off.

Great to see that the club has the ambition to go for players like this. Obviously gutting to miss out as he's exactly what we need.

From what I can gather; his heart was always set on Juve, which probably means he only saw us as an alternative if the didn't up their interest again.

[speculation intensifies]

Which in turn makes me think that this is a deal that we couldn't have sorted in say, June, since the player would always be stalling if there was interest from Juventus.
So maybe we set a deadline yesterday to allow ourselves time to work with alternatives if we couldn't get it done; got very positive news, before Juve decided to put themselves back in the frame. And we're currently holding our dicks.

I hadnt even thought of that scenario (n)

We will soon approach the clubs-won't-sell-as-there-is-no-time-to-get-replacement stage and I really doubt we can get any of our primary targets given we have signed fuck all since the window opened.

I can't see how people can defend how we conduct our transfers (or lack of). I can forgive the Keita deal but if all of our primary targets from the start are all similar to this in that it is complicated, not easy to deal kind of bullshit etc, then there is really something fucking wrong with the club be it the scouts or Levy.

Fucking frustrating.

That phrase really made me laugh.

You are obviously angry with recent events and the thought of you sitting there making up new phrases for the English language to convey your anger is very funny.

Poch on TalkSport now. We will bring in 3, maybe 4. We were close to someone but it didn't happen.
Just listened to this on the talksport website, Poch actually said "we ARE so close", no mention of anything not happening.

Listen here from about 2:20 onwards.

Oh well, he did represent the best value for money. Now we'll have to go and sign the better, but more expensive (!) option. Them' the breaks I guess. *Cue optimistic ratings.

This is what I believe happened as well. Wasn't there a tweet or something from the player himself regarding something like good things come to those who wait?

Nope. Spurs fans are far more interested in defending Levy.

Our transfer business is a shambles. We sold the best RB in the league to a league rival and havent just failed to sign a replacement, we are the only club in England to sign nobody. It's embarrasing.

They have not to stolen it. They want a player they agree a price and sign them, they don't fuck about for 3 months squabbling over a couple of million.

JJ winnered a post saying we agreed a fee with Lazio but the player waited for Juve, so nope.
