Did anyone listen in to his chat with alan Brazil and Ronny Irani on TalkSport this morning?

He was basically being really open and frank about his drinking habits and the generally accepted lifestyle pre-Wenger at Arsenal.

They would go out on a Thursday night then have four / five hours kip before training on Friday and the match on Saturday.

He admitted to regularly drinking seven or eight bottles of wine a day when at his lowest depths of his alcohol illness.

This is a player who holds the record for the most consecutive number of caps awarded to him by England, over a period of four years for 37 caps.

What was interesting was Brazil's admission that the social scene back then in the seventies and early eighties just would not stand up to today's rigors.

Samson suggested that when he was in his prime he had about 7% body fat whereas today's players are about 3% (except Mido..) and puts the multitude of spurious injuries down to that fact.

It was a really good listen, not least because his addition to alchohol and the damage it caused to his private life is parrallel to one of our very own, Paul Gascoine.

Kenny Sansom.

One of the two Arsenal players I did not dislike, the other being George Eastham.

Not possible. Brazil knows nothing about the subject clearly.
