Forgot about this poor fucker.

Was he and Pienaar for shirt purchases in SA or something?

Didn't he sign as a free agent or from an agency or something? I must admit, he was the kind of signing i would've expected us to make five or six years ago, when we still relied heavily on our reserve team to give our youngsters, fringe and recently back from injury players some pitch time but since they dissolved the reserves, i'm wondering if Ken-doll is onto something

Signing has to be purely commercial, werent they our 'connected' club in SA? Wouldn't feel too sorry for him though, he'll be on more money now than what he was in SA.

My house mate is a Reading season ticket holder and said that Khumalo is an awful player. Can't get out of the floor at all to win headers and just looks slow and lacking in any kind of positional sense.

I should stress though, my mate sees Football differently to most people, he's incredibly negative, especially about his own team so he likely isn't this bad. What I know though is that he's pretty much been excluded from the squad every week and doesn't even make the bench.....yikes.

Think Kendall is spot on with the south africans - commercial opportunism and nothing more IMO. I think Pienaar is a good player but we are/were well stocked in the midfield positions and even if he'd have stayed fit i cannot see him being more than a regular sub

Surprised to hear about Khumalo being rank, i'm sure when he was at Preston last season Phil Brown was very complimentary about him

Tottenham won't get much commercial purpose in SA if they keep buying their promising players and sending them back worse!

He's a decent player but never premiership quality - the leagues in SA are less physical and a lot slower. Was hoping he would adapt quickly like Radebe, but seems to be on the same path as Mabizela

Report on Tottenham News Now website today says he is fit again but struggling to get playing time at Reading
He is not exactly young (age 25, I think) so if he cannot get a game at Reading, he is unlikely to ever make it at Spurs

He was signed through our partnership with SuperSport and given a chance to explore football in Europe. We paid 1.5 million and if he doesnt make it which is looking likely then he'll be shipped to a Championship club or somewhere else in Europe.

We basically gave him a chance to see what he had.

I said 6 months or so ago that I doubt he'd ever play for us and was shot down.

I have had this opinion for ages too, its been pretty obvious since he first cam in tbh. The guy is 25 but we still need to loan him out to 'develop', Im sorry but by that age he should be ready to play.

To me we bought him as a favour due to our partnership with that South African club.
