Have to admit, I like Naughton, he doesn't seem to complain, doesn't moan about playing out of position, he just gets on with it - ok he's not gonna set the world alight but then again at the beginning of the season he was arguably our best player (certainly our best defender).

At the risk of getting a beat-down, imo Yedlin isn't a readymade Naughton replacement - yes he has the speed but his passing seems a bit off, even in that training video (posted earlier) you can see that some of his passes are wayward (although I appreciate it really really early days).

Anyway, unfortunately Naughton's days are up with us but I still expect to get closer to 5m for him, after all he's a solid professional - and wish him the best of luck wherever he ends up..........Hull!! :)

"The day of reckoning is nearly upon is. Kyle Naughton’s departure from Tottenham Hotspur is imminent.
Yesterday, tabloids the Mirror and the Mail claimed Leicester had tabled a £3m bid for the full back, which has since been confirmed by Sky Sports.
Today, Goal.com says Swansea have made a similar offer for the 26-year-old, with Spurs holding out for closer to £5m. That could result in a mini-bidding war between the two clubs

I'm not actually sure Yedlin would be Naught's immediate replacement. That's a lot to expect for a young player with no experience even in Europe. I wouldn't be surprised to see us loan a right back in for the remainder of the season if we do end up selling both Naughton and Chririches.

So, considering this:

Amy Lewis ✔ @SkySportsAmy
Sources: Swansea have rejected a bid from Crystal Palace for left back Neil Taylor. More than £3m. More #transfers on @SkySportsNewsHQ

I wonder if Palace might be interested in bidding more than £3m for Naughton?

Wonder what happened to Zeki? He was arguably decent at left back last season, but Palace don't seem to be playing him

Another signing that will go through on deadline day as Levy holds out for maximum money.

Daily Mirror claim Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a £5M fee with Swansea City for the sale of Kyle Naughton. #THFc

On the mirror's transfer feed it says:

Tottenham have finally started their January clear-out by agreeing a £5million deal with Swansea for right-back Kyle Naughton.

Naughton, 26, is discussing personal terms with the Liberty Stadium club and is expected to complete his move in the next 48 hours - as Swansea begin to sell their £30m Wilfried Bony windfall.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has been keen to off-load three or four players to fund new recruits during the mid-season window, so he believes the

Naughton deal is a significant step in the right direction.

Long-serving winger Aaron Lennon could be the next man to leave White Hart Lane - with Everton and Stoke both interested.

Spurs want around £7million for Lennon, 27, but could offer him as a makeweight in a bid for Everton winger Kevin Mirallas.

Yet Goodison boss Roberto Martinez is determined to keep hold of Belgian star Mirallas despite his controversial penalty miss in the 0-0 draw with West Brom on Monday.

Stoke are more likely to agree a straight cash deal for Lennon but the player could hold out until the end of the month to see if Everton can raise the money to sign him.

5mio for Naughton is very good business. Unfortunately, he wasn't at the level we need him to be if we are to go forward, and at his age I can not see him improving.

If true, all the best Kyle and thanks for your service.

I personally feel that £5m is a steal for a 26 year old english full back.

Unpopular to say, but I feel that he has been good for us and is often unfairly scapegoated, probably because it took him so long to get in a regular slot for the team, in conjunction with how poor the whole defence played last season.

He's done well to take on a role which doesn't suit him, playing on opposite sides all the time, in positions other established players have struggled in.

As a traditional right back, he'll be solid as a rock for Swansea (should he move) and I appreciate everything he's done for the team, including his patience and professionalism over the last 6 years
