I could deal with Walker leaving but its frustrating that we'd essentially be giving the best RB in the league to one of our direct rivals who's weakest position is full-back. Also annoying that Iheanacho's agent ruled out a move to Spurs saying City wouldn't sell to a rival. Wish the club would take a harder stance like this by not allowing him to go to a club we're in direct competition with.

There's nothing to patch up. He want more money and he want trophies. City will get him both as trophies follow money.

I think with Kane or Alli we would take that stance. But it's evidently clear that Poch wants to get rid of Walker, or is at least not prepared to try to get him to stay. We could spend all summer hoping a foreign club come in for him at the right price, and end up in a messy deadline day pickle.

Or we could sell early to City at a high price and use those funds to strengthen the squad. Crucially City are one of the few clubs who don't have to stage payments, so there is a possibility we would get a large lump of the cash all at once.

Where is your clear evidence Poch wants to get rid of walker?

All good points there. Just frustrating from the football side of things!

Well the fact that ever since the Walker rumours started he's been parroting the phrase "the club will only sell the players the club doesn't want to keep" it doesn't take rocket scientist to put together that he's OK to let Walker go.

Poch said specifically it will be the Club's (i.e. his) decision to sell any player this summer. Walker is widely expected to be sold this summer. Ergo, It is Poch's decision to sell Walker....

I hope that whatever happens (barring him moving to Arsenal or Chelsea) that he is treated well by Spurs fans. He's not always been great, but he's played his part in our resurgence, along with some great memories.

Widely expected to be sold by whom?
Everyone?

Lots of people want him to stay, not sure anyone expects him to stay.

He has always been a favourite of mine. Yeah, he makes an occasional mistake - but who doesn't? But, when ever he made a mistake, he never hid, and he always busted his tail to get back to try and make amends. 100% effort from Walker, every match.

Football wise it's a big problem. We can't afford an instant readymade replacement. Trippier for all his assets is not such a threat tactically and can be targeted and got at - that could be seen even against Kitchee

Ok so the Sun, the star, BBC gossip column, the mail, and everyone else who picked up the story. I understand now

I still can't believe Levy would sanction a move to a rival team in the league, baffling. Best RB in the league and we're strengthening a team who finished below us.

People keep saying he is the best right back in the league, but Trippier was rightly keeping him out the side at the end of the season. Walker is clearly a good right back but let's be realistic he is not so talented that he is irreplaceable. The most annoying thing thing about selling him to City would be that we were strengthening a title rival

Trippier took his opportunity but I for one couldn't see why Walker was dropped in the first place. Granted, he was poor against Palace but so we're a few others. He's been in poorer form before and still kept his spot.

Trippier certainly wasn't flawless either in the run in.

100%. City are going to spend 200 million plus this window. If they sort there defence and keeper they are going to be insanely good. Giving them the leagues best right back is a disgrace

That is what most are annoyed about. If AC Milan give us 50 million there won't be too many tears

That doesn't make it the right decision. And it certainly isn't the right decision to sell to City. We are stronger with Walker and we certainly won't replace his quality, so we will be weaker
