Beyond me why people take a comment made to a random fan as factual. OF COURSE Walker or any other player is going to spill the beans on a beach in Spain to some stranger holding a mobile phone to his face. Also: If we are going to hold him to his words; huge difference between "I don't want to leave" and "I'm staying".
There is something on twitter saying this chaps family met walker on holiday and they asked him if he's leaving spurs and he said he doesn't want to.
I'll see if I can find the tweet
Pretty sure this was posted earlier today man. Ahh couldn't see it lol
If Dani Alves does go to City, with him being in twilight of his career you'd imagine he's been told he's going to start the majority of games with obvious rotation now and then.
So Walker would be going there to be second choice, City's version of what Trippier was before the apparent fall out.
With it being a World Cup year seems a slightly mental decision for Walker to go there this summer. Thought part of decision was to be up north too, rules out a move abroad.
City would defo need another RB if Alves goes considering his age .If walker did go they'd prob be joint 1st choice and share the games .Would be risky regarding World Cup as trippier and clyne will be regular starters .If he stays he's more in control of situation as imo he is still our No1 starter .
If walker leaves it could unsettle other players.
And if you fail to pay your players the type of wages they see inferior players receiving at lesser clubs, do you think you risk a similar outcome, Trix?If you force unhappy players to stay it could discourage the other players from extending their contracts(hypothetically speaking of course)
Let me see if I've got this Walker stuff correct.
He's our starting rightback
We're competing for the league
City are rivals
He's English.
He's homegrown.
He's contacted until 2021.
He starts for England.
He wants to play world cup next year.
At 27, this world cup could be his last as a starter.
a). We shouldn't sell him.
b). He won't be cheap.
c). He won't act out as he still wants to play football in order to go to the world cup.
d). So he'll cost even more.
e). So he'll cost even more after a season of impressing to get in the world cup squad.
Why would we sell him this summer?
