I'd hope Levy screws them over for Walker as they've shown he's their number 1 choice at right back and it strengthens them massively.

Ideally we don't sell him but if he is going to City then it should be for £50m+.

The two deals (Charlie and Ade) have been one way, us buying. This Man City board have never had to buy from Levy so their normal approach if throwing double what a player is worth to seal the deal early will not work. New territory for them

Bit of a concern if Walker wants to leave, is it purely to double his weekly wage or does he think Spurs don't have a chance of winning anything

Wasn't the Charlie deal just before the buyout? I remember it being the same summer

As for Ade, well they would have dealt with anyone

There's doing transfers and there's doing transfers withTHFC. Hopefully Levy performs as usual.

I half agree with this . Yes , a high percentage of Walker's attacks are unproductive , but there has been on a few occasions
a clever penetrative pass from him , a good cross . It just doesn't happen enough .

But Trippier can have spectacularly off colour games with spells of terrible passes/crosses...and also there were those European nights of his .

Walker is more of a beast obviously and there is something reassuring in that he's unlikely to be muscled off the ball . Difficult choice imo .

Can't argue with any of that. I'm not for a second saying he isn't a class player, just not world class. He's improved leaps and bounds under Poch. The brain fart tackles have pretty much gone from his game. He is a physical beast. Now it's just the lack of a early cross that can wind me up. Yeah he does occasionally pull a good cross out of the bag. He could have so many more assists though. As for Trippier, considering many games he's played I think he's done well. Still lots to learn and he'll never have Walkers pace or power but it's not like we'll be left with a rubbish player to take Walkers place. Anyway Levy might not let him leave so it could all be moot.

I know its been said before, if we could have Walker's pace and strength with Trippier's ability to cross a ball then what a player we'd have but the truth is we don't have that player which means Walker has deficiencies, they are deficiencies we can live with but they are also the reason why nobody on this thread is borderline suicidal at the idea of him going.

If it was Kane, Dele, Toby or Jan, people would be calling the Samaritans.

These players are pivotal to our success and deliver on a consistent basis. Take Walker's pace away and you're left scratching your head in terms of both his defensive and offensive attributes.

Spurs have put at least 3 different posts on Facebook today re Walker's birthday. Obviously not reading into it much but it'd be slightly odd to make this much fuss of a player's birthday if a deal was already done for him to go. It could be that it's all very amicable but still, reasonably weird if he's on the verge of signing for a rival.

DefinIte ploy to get Walker to realise it will be a big mistake to go there...just ask Yaya Toure. He's still waiting for his birthday cake, FFS.

Levy knows City are desperate to give Pep exactly what he wants, he knows their substantial wealth. They aren't used to this kind of friction. Part of me hopes he pisses them off so much they walk away!

That's because Trippier is a damn good RB in his own right. However, Walker is just better, IMO. At the moment, he is the best RB in the Premier League and one of the best in Europe. If he wants to go, I wont begrudge him for following the money now. He's given alot to Spurs. But we really need him to stay.

Sky Sports are reporting City are spanking 45m on a Brazilian GK from Benfica....surely if we are considering selling Walker to them Levy must be looking for the nut cracker as we speak.

£60m with add ons.

We want the press and their fans questioning why such a large fee. Headline with "most expensive fee for English defender" on the back page. If he's going to those slags then let's heap the pressure on him, get in his head and hopefully that could be something he struggles to live up to,

I'm clutching but fuck this £40m bollocks. He's worth more than that to city. You want him then Levy wants a record if not do one.

Still would rather he stayed. Even at £60m
