Vinicius really needs to get out of Spain. Refuse to sign a new deal, force Real's and La Liga's hand as much as he can.

But when he meets responses like this from the La Liga President, you can't help but think there's no way in hell he can win.

Tebas is claiming that Vinicius has been called in to two meetings to discuss the racism against him and not attended either. But why the fuck would you need meetings to call this shit out?

The Spanish league should be embarrassed but they won't be.
Tebas used to be a member of the fascist party Fuerza Nueva, has stated in public that Spain needs to look for its Le Pen figurehead and has openly supported far right nationalist party Vox.

So expect nothing and you shall not be disappointed.

Taking this thread into far less serious matters here, but Matt Doherty has had 16 minutes of game time for Atletico since leaving in January. What a strange move.

I think there were more pages outraged with our contract termination than he's played minutes. Not good enough and glad we made that move when we did.

Vinicius seems like a massive dick provoking supporters in many places.
The racism has no place anywhere. Ciao.

A lot of footballers provoke opposition supporters. It can't justify racism.
Did I ever say that? I knew someone's take would be this.

How much are players allowed to provoke without expecting some abuse from supporters? And again, obviously not racial one.

Vinicius hasn't helped himself down in Spain, he has been provoking supporters in many places though.
The racism specifically has no place anywhere. But if they called him hijo da puta instead of mono, would anyone care?

I can’t tell if this is satire or if you’re being deliberately ignorant.

Supporters came up with plenty of vile things to say to guys like Ronaldo. The fact that the vile comments resort to racism with Vini is the sole issue.

Exactly. My point is, I'm not absolving Vinicius from blame for abuse (which all footballers have to stand). The racial abuse is the issue.

I accept that was your point. But you seemed to imply that Vini had some responsibility to behave better to prevent being racially abused and I fundamentally disagree with that.

No I never said or implied that. I implied that he's a dick, but never that the RACIAL abuse was okay.

Okay. You never explicitly said that. But I maintain the idea that the black footballer who "hasn't helped himself down in Spain" (your words) has a responsibility to behave in a way to not get racially abused is in fact an example of racial bias.

I suggest you rewrite your original post. You open with "Vinicius hasn't helped himself" and you have a big "But" in there as well. It very much implies he sort of had it coming, even if that's not what you meant. It doesn't look good at all.
