Everyone seems to have forgotten Tanguy's away at Sheffield United. Thought that was goal of the season contender worthy at the very least.

Having watched those nominated, I feel like Maddison's and Lanzini's are goals you see up and down the country every week. Same with Salah. Lingard just ran into open pitch (Wolves defending was shocking). The only ones I was impressed with were Haller, Lamela and Cavani (maybe Bruno as well because it was like a delicate lob).

Was thinking this also. Absolutely amazing goal.

Lamela's is unique and should win, but then I would say that being Spurs.

Personally think that Lamela goal, those other goals you will see most seasons, where as this is the first time a goal has been scored via Robana.

Lamela's for sure. A one in a million type goal but he clearly meant it. 2nd place to the overhead kick.

The ones that were the break away goals were shit (Salah and Lingard) . Loads more counter attack goals could have been in instead of those. Tbh Sonny vs goons at home was one that had an outstanding finish at the end of it.

Criminal that Kane's vs Palace isn't there as that was better than the majority of those goals.

As annoying as it still is to this day, the Lanzini goal was a cracker. Although I maintain had Winks not been a bottler and threw himself full pelt in the way instead of letting himself get blocked that wouldn't have been a goal.

The nominations are just each months goal of the month. If there was a month with a couple of great goals then it still won’t be nominated. Lamela’s was a moment of instinct in a bad game. Not sure it’ll win, think he was a surprised as anyone it went in.

That's what makes it a worthy winner.

the thing with Lamela's goal which was an amazing goal - I can't be the only one who watches it and thinks is he the most one footed player ever

You (and alot of others) harp on about Lamela being one footed only because his left foot is more dominant. I dont see you writing about players like Dele whose right foot is more dominant, which by your logic, players like him should be described as one footed as well.

I initially came on here to state the same thing. As others have pointed out, most of the nominated goals shown are familiar and there is no uniqueness about them. Lamela's robona was very rare and deserved to be in that poll, but so does Tangay's

As far as technique goes, the rabona wins every time for me. It's the fact it came in a very disappointing defeat where it ultimately meant nothing that means in terms of overall I don't think it should. Tanguy's at least was in a win, and in fact it was the third and decisive goal. Maybe it's just me, but what the goal means in terms of the match it was in should be a factor as well. Lamela's meant bugger all and he ruined it by getting sent off.

more dominant wow !! he can hardly use his right foot the trouble with Lamela is that its such a weakness in his game and probably the biggest reason he never really progressed as a player - all players favour a side there are not many truly two footed players but in Lamela's case its so dramatic

still a good goal though

I think the key factor wasn't just the rabona, but a few ex-footballers were amazed at how good he is at them - to be able to strike it that sweetly and have the ball daisycut, rather than jump, is apparently technically brilliant.

Don't know why when he has actually scored with one in the top corner before?

Great goal and deserved award but I’m struggling to get excited given how disgusting the performance was, the penalty decision and the result.
