Guys,

Last summer we were (supposedly) actively after Oscar and Hazard: pretty pacy and skilful.

This summer we signed Paulie and Capoue: maybe not quite as skilful but tall powerhouses of players.


Can anyone offer any ideas or thoughts on where/why AVB's mindset changed fairly dramatically on the stature of our midfield targets over a short timespan.

The hazard link started when harry was there so nothing to do with him (AVB) doubt he had too much input on any of last years signings

He still went out and signed tricky ballplaying midfielders in Lamela, Eriksen and Chadli. But he also realised last season that Huddlestone and Parker were simply not good enough to carry us forward.
