We have scored so many important late goals this season which a refreshing change.

There seems to be a never say die attitude in games.

If this is because of avb then it is top work to instill that into a squad in his first season.

Bravo

I think we haven't conceded goals in the last 10 minutesof any game since Everton away

I remember that attitude with Jol especially and with Harry in the second half of games

Nothing new really

i dont. I have more faith in this side to snatch something at the death than any Spurs side I can remember.

Nah come on spurs I was never afraid when when we were behind under jol, we always looked like scoring a goal

We had a harder working team then still

Yes, AVB has them fighting every game. Aside from a couple of new, improved starters, we also need a couple more talented bench players.

Yep.

We conceded a fair few late goals early in the season and to AVB's credit it has been totally reversed. This Spurs side has got some bottle as opposed to previous years.

I find that when we play with a sense of urgency we can be highly effective. However I often think that we can be a little too patient at times

This was our biggest problem last season.

Last season we only scored 1 goal in the last 10 minutes of matches which won us any points.

Think Gerrard scored a late pen against us with about 7-8 mins to go. But by and large we've cut out late mistakes and are finishing stronger.

It could be that the new fitness regime and training centre have improved this aspect of our game. Earlier in the season we were still working on our fitness levels. I don't think Harry did enough of this with the players. It's actually about the only thing we missed about Ramos.

Are we becoming the new Man Utd? OK we obviously wont achieve what they have done but the signs are promising. As one great manager retires another young talented manager continues to grow here at Spurs. We have a lot of young players growing together as well, similar to what Utd had in the 90s. We seem to be building that similar mentality Sir Alex had where they always believe they can get a goal, no matter how late.

This.... In years gone by last night would have been the type of game we wouldhave collapsed inafter going down twiw, look at last years Semi as an example. I always felt we would get a second and once that went in I thought only 1 team was going to win that game last night. Another 5 mins and I'm convinced we would have....

Agree. Teams that score in the last minutes of games are teams with confidence, which ultimately all stems from the manager

I think there is also a connection to our general slower starts under AVB to Harry. We are a lot more patient, which can hurt us at times, but we make the opposition work a lot harder to press us, while we keep some energy in reserve, then later on we are fresher and put the pedal down.

Also our subs are really coming off.

For anyone that doesn't realise that our late surges, especially in the ten mins before the last ten mins are not something new below are some stats. Yeah I know, get a life...

We've gained 3 wins, and 3 draws from the 8 games we've been losing at half time. We have the second highest (after Swansea) of % of goals in 2nd half (66%), and scored the highest amount of 2nd half goals (42, Arse on 40, Manchesters on 38). In mins 71-80 we've scored 17 conceded 3.

2012/13
3 wins, 3 draws from 8 behind at HT
66% of goals in 2nd half, 2nd highest
42 2nd half goals
Mins 71-80 = 17 F, 3 A

2011/12
0 wins, 2 draws from 7 behind at HT
54% of goals in 2nd half, 13th highest
36 2nd half goals
Mins 71-80 = 5 F, 3 A

2010/11
3 wins, 1 draws from 9 behind at HT
53% of goals in 2nd half, 12th highest
29 2nd half goals
Mins 71-80 = 4 F, 7 A

2009/10
0 wins, 1 draws from 8 behind at HT
58% of goals in 2nd half, 9th highest
39 2nd half goals
Mins 71-80 = 3 F, 11 A

Nothing new really

AVB = Three wins, three draws from 8 games in losing half time positions.
Harry = Three wins, four draws from 24 games in losing positions at half time.

I liked Harry but that's just madness. We were a first half team under him. We'd have finished 3rd that last 2 seasons had games ended at half time.

This isn't bashing Harry, we had other qualities under him, but turning around games wasn't one of them.

For some reason I've been having a conversation with a Chels and Gooner fan...

Saying I'm not holding out for much on Sunday because Spurs never get any luck, lasagne, Fulop...the list is endless.

Then they both come back with..."Luck? Surely all these late winner's are luck?"

With a brief sigh and not wanting to waste any more breath on these two imbeciles I muttered "Goal's a goal, 1st minute or last minute they're all the same", and left.

Hilarious, the minds of those fans are incredible some times.
