Nah the Christmas day Wesley Sneijder fiasco won't be beatenBest 1-day transfer story ever?
The thing is, when ever one of these huge clubs is about to go under someone swoops in and rescues them. If their players are up for sale now, then we need to act ASAP before they are rescued.
Apart from the 5" height difference*Correa kinda looks like Martinez so it's clear that this is gonna FUCKING HAPPEN COYS COYS
Villa and Grealish being the obvious example. Get in get the deal done and get out before they get sorted.
Many thanks.
I love all this ‘alongside Kane’, ‘if Kane stays’ and ‘would only happen if he goes’
That transfer is going to happen IMO. Can’t see another scenario. City seem to be super keen. He wants to go. It’ll happen.
I’d also be amazed if we bought Martinez and Vlahovic. Would be lovely, but feels a massive long shot.
God knows how this plays out
Its an exciting link, but I'm not as enthused as some others on here. The way he moves around the pitch reminds me of Aguero. Whilst they are both skillful and powerful they lack the pace to effectively run channels and height to win aerial duels. This means they are less effective as lone number 9s for teams that look to play direct. Playing up top on his own, Lautaro would work in a possesion-based pressing side as he comes short well and is also a good presser. He'd be good for Liverpool. I know we've heard rumours that Nuno will attempt to implement a more progressive style of play but I am not convinced that a) that is entirely true and b) that if not met with short term success he will revert to the more direct football that served him well at Wolves. Therefore I only really feel comfortable about signing Lautaro if he's coming to play in a 2. We have heard rumours that this is what Nuno wishes to do and if so I think Lautaro is a good fit. The only thing Lautaro and Kane really lack as a pairing is pace and true 1v1 ability. I'd rather see him partner Kane uptop than Vlahovic, and I hope Paratici agrees and this is why Lautaro is no 1. However, if Kane was to leave and we were buying a no 9 to lead the line I would choose Vlahovic.
Yes, but the rescuers are usually Venture Capitalists or Private Equity Funds. Their only interest in these clubs is how much they can make by asset stripping. The thing is, when ever one of these huge clubs is about to go under someone swoops in and rescues them. Martínez is the same category as Vlahovic - if we’re buying him, it’s because we’re cashing in on Kane. With everything I’ve read, can’t see how we afford it otherwise.
People always say this, but surely other clubs aren't stupid. Kane to City rumours are hardly under the radar. Those reports from English journalists suggested that Lautaro will play alongside Kane. I wonder if these are the exact same words Fab tells to selling clubs (Lautaro - Inter, Vlahovic - Fiorentina). This would prevent us from overspending because if they knew that Kane will be sold, they would demand much more money. So Fab decided now to go for a more expensive player (Lautaro as a first striker) knowing that then he can return to Vlahovic(second striker) as a more affordable option after Kane will move to City
Thats what I said. I said if he's coming to play in a 2 I'd like Lautaro but that in a side that plays direct football he will be ineffective uptop on his own.Not sure I agree with some points. I believe Lautaro-Kane will work far better than Kane-Vlahovic. Lautaro certainly has the pace thats required for a forward. He can dribble out of trouble if required. With Argentina, fact that he works harder and is pacy is reason he plays ahead of Aguero.
