Why is it that everyone is super happy at inter? It's really weird, like everyone wants to be at inter. Why? I predict it's being fed to the journalists just to appease the fans. Maybe it's the links to spurs that are doing it.

Martinez, Diaz, richarlison and now Martinez again. It's clear we are looking at a LW/CF, it's clear inter need to sell someone. I think they want to sell Martinez, he is their most marketable asset. I'm sure if they got a huge offer for skrinrar from PSG they'd take it, but imo it's Martinez they want to sell.

I think we are in for him, and I think inter want to sell him. But there are games to be played. Watch the skrinrar situation, if he doesn't go, Martinez will.

Whether he will go to spurs or not is another matter.

Agreed with your takes on Osimhen, haven't seen as much of David.

I think you've just dressed up Lautaro in pretty language there though. I of course rate him above Lacazette, Defoe, etc. he has versatility in his play bc he's a top quality player and looks to get involved, pass the ball around, has good interplay, touch and movement.

But the fact is all that variation doesn't allow him to play as a lone striker or a winger, which ultimately is what we are crying out for. And crucially, he is not actually that fast or good on the counter. He is constantly getting cut down in transition situations or having to wait for support; his top-end pace and ability to run at defenders is actually quite overrated.
That’s the thing. I agree with everything you said. My point originally was that he was more versatile than Osimhen and David, and even then, Martinez isn’t a positionally versatile player. He is a SS. But it’s where he pops up on the pitch that’s versatile. In the box, dropping deep, running channels (even though he isn’t an elite athlete). That’s all. It’s the variation in his play across the pitch that’s versatile, not where he appears on the team sheet. Either way, unless Conte is desperate, don’t think 90 mil on him is the best idea unless we know Kane/Son is leaving.

You're super happy at inter until the day you leave inter. to suggest anything else would be to invite a world of pain upon yourself if you don't end up leaving.

That's my take anyway

Still though. If your family just opened up a business, it would be quite shit to take a new job in another country.

Has there been a reason why it’s closed as can’t remember seeing one? I know it normally is but its such a good thread where you can actually discuss multiple things rather than being told to stick to one thing
It’s really a thread for people that enjoy talking all things football, mainly sticking to how players within our current squad can contribute going forward and if not who people would like to see come in to elevate the squad. It’s nice to see players like Perisic and Bissouma who many posters really advocated for sign for us and it would be nice to continue all that kind of discussion

Hear me out on this one….

links coming out today about us looking to make a player plus cash move for Anthony at Ajax, due to their interest in Bergwijn…he can cover the left and right and would be a very very exciting rotational option for us, and someone who would be a nightmare for defenders late in the game…

now where does that leave us up front??

Links to Martinez are flattering but in fairness Spurs would never shell out €90m and he sounds happy there so there’s no use in flogging that all summer…

we know Conte likes a powerful forward, and with Lukaku looming for Inter, and Dybala on the way potentially, not to mention Joaquin Correa and Martinez himself…could that pave the way for Edin Dzeko to become available?

Still an elite striker in my option and a lot of people always think of him as being the “4th Striker at City”…behind Aguero, Prome Tevez and Balotelli…but even in the premier league he proved to be a nightmare…

A few news articles reporting him being available for as little as €5m…although he was signed for €2m by inter in the first place so could potentially be less than that.

An opportunity to return to the biggest league in the world, with a manager who won him the Scudetto…49 games in all competitions last season, still fit, 17 goals and 10 assists in all competitions, showing that he is a lot more than a tap in merchant, he brings others In too…

1 year remaining on the deal…no World Cup….a manager who wants to win now…a relationship with Perisic and Conte already, and for me, a tremendously gifted player with more to offer still…

Bringing him in with Anthony makes our bench fantastic, looking to the likes of those two, Moura, the midfield depth and wingback roles too…

Kane, Dzeko, Son, Deki, Anthony, Moura…the balance of power, pace, finesse and clinical finishing, and the makings of a title-contending attack

EDIT*** There’s been ITK mentioned too about a left-field attacker, maybe all this sniffing around Inter for Basto and Martinez could be a smoke screen to smash and grab Dzeko on a steal

I still think we need a statement signing this summer. It has to be either CB or Forward but really it should and could be both.

We have barely spent anything so far yet we’ve made some great signings. We should still have considerable funds to spend.

Making a big money signing providing it’s the right player just really adds some momentum and hype to the upcoming season plus of course gives up much more quality.

Martinez would absolutely add to our side. As others have said, Kulu is young and will have dips in form. Moura is far too much of a drop down in quality. We wouldn't be spending 90 milion on a bench option, we would be spending that money on a top quality player.

Conte is very specific about these things. If he said it it likely means he'd be willing to do it.

I don't think it'd ever be a long term option but my point is it's ridiculous to say a manager won't do something he's literally been quoted as saying.
Yet he still didn’t do it when Doherty was injured. So let’s wait and see

I thought this the other day. I'd certainly be interested in Raphinha and Dzeko. Dzeko could be the Llorente/Giroud type backup Striker for Conte.

my me it makes perfect sense…as much as we love the prospect of Scammaca and co..Conte isn’t here to gamble on forwards who need 2 years to adapt…

little fact as well…he has hit double figures in goals for 13 of the last 15 seasons, the only exceptions were his first seasons at Wolfsburg and City respectively…that is an unbelievable level of consistency

Italian media reporting Inter looking to move him on, and he wants a 2 year deal somewhere…ties you over beautifully for Parrot and Scarlett too

Personally feel this one is us just feeling Inter out, we all know they need to sell. Just a matter of time as they apparently have until the end of June.

Thread is regarding the Lukaku deal inter are trying to do but doesn't look like Martinez will be going anywhere.

Interesting that they feel a Lukaku deal could be struck at £12m. I believe they have to pay £20m a season in transfer instalments. So that's an £8m loss before you even look at wages. Crazy.

The thing with a swap deal is that it doesn't really help Inter in the sense of a transfer profit. Maybe if they could do it with Dumfries and then sell Skriniar to PSG or Bastoni to us then they would land on it, but then Chelsea would be taking a massive transfer hit on Lukaku.

Will be interesting to see the Italian media's take on this later on.

I’d be amused to think this is a plan to get our own back by agreeing to a deal and then pulling out on the 30th June and watch them default on their debt.

Followed by don’t fuck us about again

Also on this, what would be really sweet is for Chelsea to get no interest from Bastoni or Lautaro on a swap deal, thus agreeing to a loss cutting loan deal for Lukaku over the weekend. Only for Don Fabio/Conte to sign one of them a week later. That is incredibly unrealistic but would be beautiful and cathartic.
