~I've been to many Lazio games, I think the trouble is vastly over hyped personally, Even at the Roma derby.....don't believe Danny Dyer (he gets scared just sleeping in a tent)

More the fact they like their swastikas and we call ourselves the yid army... bound to be a few rucks. Wouldnt suprise me if they start winding us up with some salutes, i doubt flags will be allowd at the lane.

Well yea, their Ultra's certainly seem to revel in the fascist links with Mussolini etc although most are adamant that there is a distinction between fascist support and Nazi support (Di Canio for one) but there is the whole Klose Mit UNS with the S's styled like the SS symbols situation.

I'm sure it will be some what hostile, I still think the present danger is over hyped.

A friend of mine worked Cabin crew with BA for years and wanted to watch a game when he was staying over in Rome but was warned by his colleagues who suggested that being half Indian it would be a dangerous environment for him and he didn't go

One holiday to Rome I was with my girlfriend staying with my cousins and aunt and I went with my girlfriend to a Lazio match in the stand behind the goal were the ULTRA's supposedly are and there was no trouble or racial hostility in spite the fact my girlfriend is half Jamaican.

I think its like a perception people have when they don't really have first hand experience, like people think Chelsea is run by the C18 and going to Stamford Bridge is dangerous.

I'm not saying there is no chance of trouble or hostility, but from my own personal experiences having been to over a dozen Lazio games including a Rome derby I believe the perception of just how violent and hostile Lazio (who I've even seen referred to as Nazio) actually are is over hyped from the outside.

Anyway, I certainly hope there is no trouble and wish all my fellow Spurs fans travelling to Rome a safe and enjoyable trip

PS.....do you think it would be pushing my luck to wear my spurs kit in their stand? :cautious:

I was by the "hostile" home fans for the AC match. Even though I was singing as if I was in the brickies I got no bother whatsoever.

The fact that there was more spurs there than Milan probably helped

Same at Inter, probably 50 non-Spurs in a section of 2,000. Nearly had a row with one of our own who was picking on 2 young Italians sitting next to me.

in 2002 I think I went to Rome. A bunch of us went to Lazio v Bologna/Genoa - I totally forgot. Anyways we were all in the lazio end but right next to the away fans - it used to be a plastic partition. Anyways basically we were caught in the middle of bricks being thrown, chairs chucked over the partition and fights between away fans, police and Lazio fans.

As far as im aware there is no history between Lazio and Bologna/Genoa fans yet they fought as if it was a Lazio v Roma game or Gala v Fenerbace etc. It was funny because nothing really caused it just fans wanting to fight - most probably because the game was utter shite.
