18:06 DISALLOWED GOAL FOR SPURS- Gareth Bale
Controversy here. Thomas Carroll, who looks a real prospect, picks out a fine pass from the centre-circle to put Gareth Bale in on goal. His pace is too much for the covering defender and Bale easily rounds goalkeeper Federico Marchetti and slides into the net. But the flag is raised for offside - and Gareth Bale was clearly onside. Hard lines for Spurs - who had two goals disallowed for offside in the reverse game if I recall correctly.
18:23GREAT SAVE! Spurs are still controlling this game - more than they did at Arsenal anyway, no matter what AVB said after the game. They work the ball smartly out to Gareth Bale, who has found space on the right. Lazio are slow to close him down and the Welshman arrows in a cross/shot which nearly catches Federico Marchetti out in the Lazio goal, but he just about manages to get back and tip it over. Did Bale mean that? I don't know...
18:29 GREAT SAVE! Oh , Lazio should score! They break well down the right, Luis Cavanda threads through a pass which Kyle Walker makes a mess of, and Libor Kozak is in on goal. He shoots low, but it's tame and Hugo Lloris is able to keep it out with his right foot. Miroslav Klose would have buried that one, but Spurs survive.
18:46 HALF-TIME - Lazio 0-0 Tottenham
So Spurs should have been ahead early on when that Gareth Bale strike was ruled out - incorrectly - for offside, but since then the home side have gone close on several occasions. Hugo Lloris is having a fine game. He does have a propensity for the Hollywood save, but he can do the bread and butter stuff as well.
19:22 SUBSTITUTION It's a double chance for Spurs as we hit the hour mark. Positive ones as well, Jermain Defoe comes on for Clint Dempsey and Aaron Lennon on for Gylfi Sigurdsson. Can they do the business?
19:23 GREAT SAVE! Libor Kozak cannot buy a goal - this is four good chances now for the Lazio striker. He does well here though, a fine touch takes him in on goal and he hits a low shot on the slide. Again though, Hugo Lloris makes the save.
19:34 SUBSTITUTION This is a big change for Spurs fans - the impressive youngster Tom Carroll comes off as Mousa Dembele comes on for his first appearance since picking up an injury for Belgium against Scotland in early October.
19:43 GREAT SAVE! Chance of the match - save of the match as Hugo Lloris keeps Spurs alive! Michael Ciani rises highest to bullet in a header from five yards out, Lloris adjusts his feet in mid air to somehow keep it out. That is a brilliant stop.
