so i'll leave it at that!

back to the topic, we need to win another cup this season!!! we should go all out on all four fronts

Have I missed something, no-ones mentioned Tainio or Kaboul.

Have we had any bids for our squad players, I know Rocha is linked but at the moment we do have a very large squad and could do with selling/loaning a few players.

Last season was memorable precisely because of the League Cup - it was one of the greatest cup campaigns in our long and illustrious history - easily in the top 20 - maybe in he top 10

I was at the Lane when we beat AFC 5-1 - that avenged 40 years of hurt for me and was one of the all time great nights at the Lane - probably unsurpassed since 1984 and Anderlecht

I wasn't lucky enough to get to Wembley - the prices quoted for Spurs fans showed just how much this game meant - I bet the prices for us were higher for that game than for most FA Cup finals - In fact I reckon there's never been a higher priced 'black market' domestic cup final price in the whole history of English football

That's how big that game was -

I can't tell you how delirious that win made me - and check BC's article (the glory game?) on what it meant to him

Luckily I've already seen in person Spurs win 3 lge cups (and lose two finals as well) but this final was a a quantum leap over every one of our victories

in fact in domestic finals it ranks right up there with some of our FA cup Final victories, and TBH none of those oppos on the day of any of our previous finals, (domestic or European) were clearly superior to the multimultimilion pound side we beat -

We faced probably the second best club side in the world - or Europe at least

and we beat them -

and we beat them by playing football spurs style - not by putting 10 men behind the ball and hoping for a lucky day - not by kicking them off the pitch - we beat them by playing football - spurs style

For many fans it would have been the first time they saw spurs win at Wembley - unforgettable surely for most - and many both there and throughout the world would have bonded a little closer to the team on the day we beat the mighty Chelsea

now would I forgo such an experience by playing an inappropriatley weakened team - no way - yes rotate - of course -but treat the League Cup with anything but the utmost respect - crazy crazy crazy (nights- last year :)

If we're firing on all cylinders and looking like challenging for CL, second string players. If we screw up the league again, go all out.

amen to that brother!!

Id like to see taarabt play in all CC games..if not feature in the league!

the first carling cup round we enter isnt till a few months into the season is it so i guess it will be assessed then

would love to see the kind of team we had out against Port Vale not long ago if we are drawn at home to a league 1 or 2 team

if not then a balance between fringe and first team depending on injuries and how many each player has had to play

New internet myth-Chris Gunter is a centre back.
Sorry if you did'nt believe me but here is a direct quote from Brian Flynn the Wales under 21 manager -
Flynn: Gunter can be defensive rock

Fri 16 May, 10:00 AM

Brian Flynn wants Tottenham teenager Chris Gunter to be Wales' defensive rock of the future after an impressive display on Thursday. The 18-year-old Spurs youngster has played at left and right-back for Wales' senior side as well as for the north London side in the Premier League.
But on Thursday night he was used as a central defender for Wales Under-21s in their 2-0 friendly defeat by England at Wrexham.
And Cardiff-born Gunter was the outstanding Wales player on show with an excellent display against the likes of Theo Walcott and Gabriel Agbonlahor.
England scored two first-half goals through a Tom Huddlestone penalty and Walcott's deflected drive but Under-21 coach boss Brian Flynn was delighted with Gunter in his new role at this level.
He said: "Long-term we see Chris as a centre-half. Short-term he will be a left or right-back, but since he was 17 his progress as far as I'm concerned has been as a centre-half in my eyes.
"He will play full-back for a while probably for club and country, but as he grows up and develops he will become our centre-half. "Obviously (national manager) John Toshack will use him as a full-back for now, but he has all the skills to become a great centre-back."
