Kane occupies nr. 10 spot and role, so it's either wide left (that Son occupies) or wide right (don't remember if he played there, usually Eriksen played there if not in middle). Maybe some sort of a shadow striker if Kane could play further forward. He will never be the type to dribble well or make clever through ball passes constantly.

Ledley is a bit blinded by loyalty or something. He seemed clueless in the post match chat on sky. If Dele can't or wont reinvent as a central midfielder, then his days as a top player are done I reckon, because he's not done anything in an advanced role for over 2 seasons now.

His current position, as deserved based on form, would be on the bench.

With all due respect to Dele, he’s clearly not ready to be back in the starting 11. It’s too bad that our team is not a meritocracy where the likes of Dele and Kane will forever be picked regardless of attitude or form.

To be fair Ledley is hardly going to crucify Dele and say he's not good enough for the team. He's going to try and think how you can get the best out of him.

Sadly, there is no way as his best days are well and truly behind him.

But playing the way he has been all season, does he merit the spot? I'm not saying start Dele there. But blocking the spot for a man who simply goes through the motions is questionable for me.

Lesley and Dawson both hold positions at Spurs which makes it hard to be too critical. However, they are certainly a huge step up as pundits from the likes of Merson and Jamie Redknapp.
