Good technical, but a little lightweight for Premier League. I'm sure continental game will suit his style more.

Obvioulsy it's too late for a Lee debate now, but I'm curious what you by too lightweight. He wasn't small in stature, he was strong, quick, didn't shirk tackles and most importantly the opposition usually struggled to get good delivery into the box from the left when he was playing. How was he anymore lightweight than the very best LB's like Evra and Clichey?

He was just infuriatingly poor at consistent crossing on the hoof with his left peg.

He was one of our most consistent players. Unfortunately he was consistently bad. I don't think he managed a single cross. He was so good at passing it back that I wonder if rugby is his true love.

His defending wasn't great either TBH. That's something that he was inconsistant at, because he did defend quite well at times. However a defender needs to be a winger usually and he just didn't have that.

BAE is a big step up. He is a fantastic winger and he's no worse at defending

If he'd have played on the right, he might still be in the team.

PS I secretly believe his left leg was fashioned from a piece of antique furniture.

Yippe Lee is one my on unsolved mysteries since i became a Spurs fan. He clearly had no left foot but yet he was played at left back when anyone can see he is a right back. He used to make great runs down the wings only to cut in and lose the ball. I am sure if he was running down the right, he would just cross it in instead of cutting in.

I remember him getting Mcann sent off in the match against everton few seasons back in what was probably his only occasion where he played on the right.

I think quite a few of the weaker premier league sides have missed a trick on not signing him.

He had no left foot, but he wasnt a right back. I remember Jol played him on the right once, and what did he do? Cut inside and produced the only left footed cross of his Spurs career!!! Lol.

Feel for the fella having to basically cover the whole of the left wing both offensively and defensively with no help, but in all honesty was probably not quite good enough, and a little lightweight defensively.

Wish all the best to the bloke. And its good to see we are managing to get rid of the players Ramos doesnt rate at all.

Very sad to see the guy go, but we all knew it was coming when Jol left.

Ramos just didn't seem to care for the chap.

I thought he was a good player, perhaps not the best, but you should remember him as being a stalwart in the team for the two seasons we managed to finish fifth.

And he was a nice bloke of the field too.

So long fella, I'll miss you, and stick up for you whatever some pricks think on here.

It was messed up he wasn't even given a number this season. I think Bale was given his number.

Him and Salty helped us charge up the table to 4th for most of the season.

best wishes to Lee - a good player - subject to ridiculous and often racist abuse by far too many of our 'supporters' -

One of my favourite players of the last decade. Can't for the life of me, see why he isn't ahead of the current LB's we have.

What racist abuse?

Admittedly, I don't go to games often, but that's the first I've heard of it.

well I'm not going to repeat it - but if you want to think of various stereotypes you'll be on the right track -

and just a general nasty attitude from a sizeable amount of fans towards him - completely uncalled for towards a player who like Jenas and Dawson always does his best and is a model professional - but for some reason certain fans seem to think it's okay to have 'open season' on

As a Korean-American, I became a Spurs fan in the summer of 2005 when we signed him and Davids. It saddens me to see him leave, as he was the reason I chose to support Spurs 3 years ago.

He wasn't the most talented player but he always gave his all for the shirt. He loved Tottenham and rejected Roma to remain. I don't mind that he's surplus to requirements, but I do think he could have been treated a bit better by the club.
