I wish we were moving forward but we are moving in the complete opposite directionHarry is shot, done, it was a moment in time, right players, CL run etc but people need to get over him, great memories but we move forward.

I think anyone who thinks we are moving forward is delusional at best.I wish we were moving forward but we are moving in the complete opposite direction
Posted elsewhere: While I do agree that Vertonghen is looking off the pace and liable to make mistakes, he is seriously exposed whenever Davies plays. Yesterday Davies was doing exactly what Rose used to do. Caught out of position, sometimes in the middle of the pitch and supposedly trying to get back to the middle to allow Vertonghen to push left. He pretty much never made it. I'm sorry to anyone who loves Davies, but I do not rate him. He is not fit enough or aware enough to play in this system successfully ATM and needs to hurry up and learn when he is safe to attack and when he cannot. As much as I am frustrated with Vertonghen, Leicester were constantly sending the ball over to their right to double team Vertonghen and Poch's poor strategy was being exposed with Davies out of position over and over again. We need players who can spot the problem 'in game' and counter act what's happening. They seem scared to think for themselves.
Watching the game again. The overreaction to it is just amazing.

If you watch the games, apart from our individual errors, we have played controlled football and have dominated to a large degree.Lol
You know the drill
We win = the other team were shit
Draw = we were shit
Lose = we were shit
The football hasn't really even started because we haven't integrated the dynamic elements of Pritchard, N'jie, Onomah, Trippier, Alli properly yet and we all know we are lacking speed, creativiy and directness in the final 3rd, so this should not be surprising in the least.. And we may also have Beharino and a CM to utilise as well.The reaction has been over the top but you can also understand the frustration that the football is all becoming a bit AVBish.

People have gone from 1 straight to 11 and ignored the other levels of hysteria completely.
It's just fucking stupid.
As I said, the reaction is stupid but I had hoped we wouldn't start the season giving up leads in this way, the casual attitude still surrounds this squad.
Introducing new young hungry players is great but your implying that's all we need to change into this amazing behemoth.
MP needs to become more flexible otherwise he simply won't progress as a coach, that's my worry, and surely you must acknowledge his poor in game management so far?
My concern about poch at the moment is he's being too tippy-tappy with bringing in the new guys. He's too cautious and systematic about this particular thing and I can't roll with him on it.
Trippier not playing is getting to me as he will change our game for sure. He's crucial imo. He's blocked more balls into the box already than I've ever seen kyle do pre-season or normal season. He's posed more of a threat and corssed more balls into the danger zone in his short time here than I've seen Walker do in years.
It is such a no-brainer it's doing my head in tbh.
Will just have sit it out and wait for poch to go through his motions and bring them through his way.
Don't like it though and it's frustrating the shit out of me as it's obvious we'll get going when tripp and a couple others get minutes.
The aura of the whole team will change imo.
For me it's just about 'when'...not 'if'.
I agree with you thinktank but isn't that what we were suppose to do preseason and in training? We've only got ourselves to blame when we say we lack speed, creativity and directness in final third. We saw this from last season.The football hasn't really even started because we haven't integrated the dynamic elements of Pritchard, N'jie, Onomah, Trippier, Alli properly yet and we all know we are lacking speed, creativiy and directness in the final 3rd, so this should not be surprising in the least.. We bought Alli in January and Trippier was bought quite early during summer. Onomah has been with us too. Surely we should have at least given them a run...or should have sorted this out.
Anyhow let's see how we start next week and when / if we get SB and a CM.
This is exactly my gripe though. Poch is giving last season's players a chance to stake a claim and up heir game. I'd do it the other way round and sprinkle the first 11 with the new guys and put the cat amongst the pigeons from the off.
Poch's being too systematic and it's not gonna work. He needs to bring in tripp, alli, pritchard asap (I know pritch has been injured and expect him to figure soon anyway tbf). N'jie will be raring to go, he needs to at least be on the bench in the next game.
Poch needs to abandon the soft approach to this for me. The sooner he shakes things up the better.
Agree but IMO he also has to buy an experience player or two to help our young players and has to be more tactically shrewd and better substitutions too. It's not as bad as many make it to be but I would add though that he has to get his act together fast. If we get one or two bad results and the game plan and football doesn't improve, I feel then confidence will start to decrease. These player are already not that strong mentally.
Actually very good points! Didn't see it that way! Can't argue with that! And all three defenders, perhaps an experience DM...anyhow...Walker - senior player - critical error
Toby - experienced player - critical error
Verts - experienced player - critical error
I'm actually more concerned about those errors themselves than the way we reacted to them. I think if we have the right mix on the filed the 'experienced' player issue pales into insignificance for us.
Eriksen would at least have made more use of the wings and also assist some cross ins that could have created fiurher chances.What difference would he have made?
