How anyone can defend the club after this start to the season is beyond me. Everything has been wrong. Mid week games before the opener. No players signed in key positions. No tempo. No movement. No definable tactics in attack and defence. No leadership. No character. No guts and determination.

Fed up

We need to be braver in how we play. Currently we have the handbrake on. It was refreshing to see Alli come on and at least show a burst of energy and willingness to make a run that was missing from so many players. The goal conceded was disappointing after it looked like we had nicked it. Davies and Vertonghen seem to have no understanding on that left side of defence.

2 points from 3 games. Don't tell me that buying late in the season doesn't make a difference.

Of course it does leaving us in a situation going the whole of August without a win poor effort all round, but as we know it will be the same struggles next year and the year after.
This is company policy and nothing will change until the company changes hands eventually, we have to suck it up Im afraid.

I am surprised that we didn't try to get Mahrez; in fact, I was hoping that we would get him if Leicester went down. It's a pity that we couldn't hold on, but Mahrez in his present form does cause defenders to back off. Positive must be Delli scoring. BTW, going hell for leather in that weather would have been monumentally stupid, just like the people complaining about "boring" football.
On a brighter note, West Ham lost as did Villa.

Yeh let's pull the trigger on another mug straight into a new season.

Jurgen Klopp at Spurs is just Jurgen Klopp with his hands cable tied behind his back
Just putting it out there, and should have known better on this bear pit thread.
Agree that its too knee jerk early in the season but am concerned at how disjointed we look at times. Think you are right that we should stick with it for now but managers of the quality of Klopp do not come available often. Would he come to us? - who knows but I don't think he will be available for too much longer.

You mean your ability to understand football is shit. Pritchard should be in the squad. Without Eriksen and Lamela no one else seem able to put a ball through a crowded defence.
Lamela doesnt play balls through a crowded defence he runs straight into them and fouls someone or falls over, or a combination of both.

The most important need we had to address was more pace/better movement, and we didn't do it for the start of the season.

Now I know we can't just throw money about, but we've had all summer to open negotiations with West Brom and have only just started, officially at least, last week.

This is partly the consequence of doing your key business in such a way. Its a shame, but there's no doubt in my mind had we tackled this glaring need quicker we'd probably have more points than we do now.

I honestly think Everton are going to give us massive problems next week as well. I think we look a bit weak in all honesty.
Changes are necessary here, no doubt about that.

We've got the options but will Poch be brave enough to make the right calls?

Our midfield is extremely piss poor. The fact Leicester have Inler ON THE BENCH pretty much sums it all up. What scares me is that Poch and his clown squad don't see it. I won't miss him when he gets sacked.

Yeah I'm sure Poch doesn't see it, he's definitely the one holding off buying a proper DM before the season starts, and he probably told his boss he doesn't need a backup striker either.

My main issue with him is that if Harry was in this position he'd be mouthing off every 5 mins about the lack of quality options in his squad.. and maybe he'd have more chance of getting it as a result..who knows.

Holier than thou? Yeah, if telling a handful of fuckwits that their persistent kneejerk over the top bullshit makes then look like complete tools, then yep. Guilty.

And I watch my fair share thank you but the funniest thing is the bullshit angle that you approached this from. I'm not complaining about people complaining. But if you're going to complain at least complain about something worth complaining about. You follow?

I don't mind complaining, you expect a certain amount of that, you expect some negativity, but when pretty much the same people with the same agendas stink the thread up with factually incorrect bollocks week in and week out it kind of wears thin. It isn't constructive, it isn't fair balanced criticism, its just idiots spouting bullshit. So yeah, i'll be holier than thou if I have to read a load of dross posted by a few idiots.

Thank you.

Are these the same "idiots" that help to finance the running of this site?

You obviously are not a promotions manager at wherever you work. Assuming you do?

Amazing really...we should be on 7 points.

Yes but if you look at last season, Poch got lucky. Dire performance after dire performance but often snatching results. He was lucky, we should have been much further down the table.

This season he may not be as lucky...

Disappointed - I would have taken a point at the start though.
Thought Leicester showed some great moment.
Their goal was a quality strike from the lad.
