And if he does get selected for the senior team, you all will be moaning about him potentially being injured etc etc.... Hehehe

Ian Wright said on talksport just now (well about an hour ago) that he agrees Walcott should be in the U21's but Lennon should be in the full squad, due to his form this season.

Gotta say I agree with him.

Most sensible thing hes ever said! Have to admit his article is usually fair and decent, but on talkshite he is a total wanker.

Good Im glad hes not in the main squad, the england team is such a curse, we did fine till we had about 5 players in the england side and starting with robbo it all went tits up.

I think the added pressue of being in the england team is such a negative influence on players

Ian Wright is quite a rare breed in that he seems to stick up for Spurs in some regards especially the English players.

Can't see why Capello wouldn't want to try Young and Lennon on the wings.
Can you imagine the opposing full backs preparing for that game! Think they might call in sick.

I cannot think of any reason why lennon should not start for England. He is probably the most in form player at Tottenham and better than any winger England have. I would not want to read too much into it but maybe Fabio wants him to move to Liverpool and he is putting some pressure on him. Do not forget that Capello worked at Juve under Moggi and co. so he must be used to these things.

Right winger

And I know where your coming from. Sure Trapattoni was the one who told Keane to move to Liverpool, and now he is glad he is back at Spurs. Lennon wont go to Liverpool because it means Kuyt wont get to play, and Rafa has some sort of weird soft spot for him.

Rafa is madly in love with Kuyt. Either that or he has some incriminating photos of him. In fairness Kuyt really shouldn't be a winger. Dunno what his best position is though, he's basically a defensive striker Eek

It is fair to say that Ian Wright is always very balanced and fair when it comes to talking about Spurs. For someone that's an ARSEnal legend, that could happily, and ablely take shots in the media..I do respect him for that.

When you compare him to the shite they have these days E.g. Van Persie at the start of the season... "FC Twente are the Dutch Tottenham", in comparison to mindless, inciting crap like that, he's in a whole other league.

He was always very passionate about playing for his country as well (like so many other English players dont seem to be these days), even though he never really got the nod. Can't say I detest the bloke by any means, like I do other Goons/Ex-Goon players.

Dunno about Lennon at Utd Emperor . According to beeb rumours site today he's a Benitez target .

As with Luca , I'll be happy if we squeeze another season out of either . :-|

Bottom half of table clubs with no Euro competition, low wages and 36,000 capacity stadiums have to accept that talented ,ambitious players don't see them as final destinations .

Well the italian mentality is to keep younger players in the u21's for as long as possible so they get both int'l experience and pushes them to get a level of consistancy. Just cus Lennon has had a gd few months, and thats what it is, a gd few months - he should still prove it on a more consistant basis so i think its a gd thing. it'll hopefully push him to get even better...

Lennon and Walcott are in the squad because they are likely to feature in the U-21 European Championships in the Summer. Capello and Pearce want to prepare for that tournament by selecting the strongest squad possible.
