I must have been watching another game on the box because I thought Lennon was terrible last night and delivered hardly anythng until the cross for Pav.

Had JR decided to take him off 5 mins earlier plenty on here would have said what a shocking game he had.

I wasn't at the game last night but would think they were getting the sub ready to replace Lennon well before the move and goal so It was very lucky for us he suddenly produced.

Bentley should be playing in the middle of our 3 attacking midfielders really..

eg

Lennon---Bentley---Dos Santos

Or Modric in any of the 3 positions with 2 out of that 3! (yeah I'm almost confusing myself.)

and interchange when required. I still think there's a communication problem at the moment between our foreign players. Once we get the English lessons in full swing, I think we'll see the fluidity that Ramos is looking for.

This is effecting Bentley as much as anyone, because he does like to come inside, but Dos Santos + Modric don't seem to be getting the message to switch with him at the moment, and our David really does seem to get frustrated quite easily.

He'll come good.

Surely it has to be

------ Jenas ---- O'Hara
Lennon -- Modric --- Dos Santos
----------- Pav --------------
If Bentley's greatest asset is his crossing, how is he going to make use of it in the middle?

I'd say his eye for goal was more of an asset than his crossing..

and surely switching positions with the other two in AM he'd be doing a bit of everything? It's all about opposition defenders not being able to man-mark our creative players out of the game.

Fluidity.

Take your point Evil, but he needs to get fit and earn a shirt.
and those 5 should own the shirts at the mo.
Its up to Bentley to come on and change the game.

Ps can you change your sig, there is a sulky vulture in the corner.

Lenon struggled to beat Bassong on the right because his pace was not enough, and he got brushed off the ball a bit too easily. If Corluka was backing him up then Lennon could go down the line, then turn back when he realises he cant beat the man with pace alone, and Corluka ahs time and space to whip in a ball.

On the left Lennon can use his accelereation and balance to cut back and whip in a ball before the defender can stop him.

Bentley cant play in the middle. I've seen his games for Spurs, and several for the U21s and in the middle he is totally wasted. He doesnt look to get past the striker(s)which, when playing a 4-5-1/4-2-3-1 is criminal and why it didnt work in the first few games we played.

I wouldnt say he is a great through ball passer, I think his main ability is his crossing and if you put him in the middle he might work hard but he is not good enough (at the moment)
