ALL players should boycott England in protest. Just the black players would start a narrative. If Kane/Grealish/Maguire/etc say I'm not playing in the EURO unless the racism stops, THAT makes a statement.

So they should give up something they might enjoy because there are no checks and balances for users?
I would protest, action rather than words. Yes white players would make a massive statement. It was said for players to start their own platform which is far greater extreme than the suggestion, just stop using it.

All black players should boycott the England team in protest until social media sorts itself out. The football authorities also need to be create real pressure to support reform. I don't use or understand social media but Im sure they would buckle with such pressure to remove and filter/ban posters/report to police such comments, especially if government get involved as they did with the super league farce.
No, because then the racist ****s win.
In your view, why just settle for the England team? Why not go on strike from their clubs too?
That's not the way to defeat racism, by removing yourself from the spotlight, you've got to stand up and be strong to beat the vocal minority.

I honestly don't know what the answer to the problem is but I think your suggestion would do more harm than good.

Fuck sake, what an absolute bell end.

Rashford’s one of the most likeable guys in football, and it’s obvious he’s not making a big deal about this “because he played badly.”

That teacher should have the sack if true. But it’s not exactly hard to make a fake profile of someone to get them in trouble. Lots of people saying “name and shame” but glad Rashford has gone through the police rather than mob justice and trial by social media.

Do we know what this so called teacher said?

There needs to be zero torlence on racist comments. SM platforms need to take responsibility to remove such comments. It is long been ignored for various reasons,. Protest and SM companies would soon get the message.
Even is its as simple as all prof players removing thier accounts.'teacher" should be exposed and sacked from his job. I hate these twats who hide dehind the screen.

Out for up to two months due to shoulder surgery

Sorry but if it’s that bad that explains his lack of game time for England and in that instance he shouldn’t have been in the squad.
Absolutely ridiculous that!

That doesn’t stop him playing. Many players play through an injury

Nevertheless, United have a player who was hardly used during the European Championships but who, just 2 days after the end of the tournament, announces he is going to have to miss several weeks at the start of the new season. They have every reason to feel aggrieved, though Rashford's newly-acquired status as a modern-day saint means they're very unlikely to say anything publicly.

Maybe it was with United’s blessing.

Yep, best not to assume with these things.

Sportsmen often need surgery and then have it at the time that suits them best, like an international break or preseason.

That was my point. If he'd had it immediately after the end of last season, he'd have stood a decent chance of being ready for United's first league fixture in August. (It's easy to be wise after the event, though. An injury to Kane or one of the other England strikers could have left Southgate with limited options, so perhaps England were reluctant to let him have the surgery earlier.)

But my point is we don’t know so let’s not assume.

Solskjaer rushed him back from injury and played him knowing full well he was injured so this to me sounds like the club (or Solskjaer) is trying to stop him having the surgery.

The lad shouldn't need to 'reflect' on anything. He knows his own body better than anyone else and if he doesn't feel it's healing then he needs to have surgery now and get it sorted. OGS shouldn't be putting any pressure on him at all because in later years Rashford may bitterly regret trying to carry the injury. What's a couple of months compared to possibly aggravating the condition by a bad tackle and being out all season.

On the other hand it could be that he personally needs to consider if it’s worth the risk. Every op I’ve had has been left to me to decide if I want to proceed.

Completely agree, that's why I said he knows his body better than anyone else, that knowledge together with sound professional medical advice should help the lad make up his mind. Maybe, as you suggest, Rashford has gone to OGS and explained he is undecided and they've simply given the lad time off to discuss it with his family and come to a decision. I just hoped they weren't pressurising the lad to carry the injury but I guess with a player of his value that's something they'd be very reluctant to do anyway.
