Their defense is abysmal including a comedy GK. Long term injury to Martinez.
There's zero chance they will have a good season from here.
we say this, but they will, they will spend an absolute fortune in the January window if they aren't kicking on by then. Plus they will prob fire ten hag at some point and get the new manager bounce

Onana is an absolute donkey oh my god. We can now add him to the list of appalling signings by Utd which were asked for by their manager.

They won't spend a fortune as long as the buyout saga continues. And even if they do, when was the last time they bought a player that was actually good? Their transfer dealings make us seem like prime Monaco in comparison.

Should have kept last seasons golden glove winner, and saved themselves 50 mil.
Yeah was he even that bad at passing out that they needed to replace him? It’s not like he was passed it like Hugo either.

Hojlund looks good to be fair

Sure sure the Glazers are evil etc etc but 70M on Hojlund, 50M on Mount, 80M on Antony. Deciding to change the entire defence by bringing in an iffy keeper who can pass the ball to poor ball-playing defenders. Brilliant plan. Genius.

Hope they dig their heels in and stick with ETH tbh. Squad is crap but so is the manager who signed many of its most important players for absolutely ridiculous money.

Plus, Pool, Chelsea and us had abysmal seasons last year.

Frankly, nearly two seasons of Conteball was more than worth it for avoiding ETH and getting Ange instead.
In our abysmal season last year we still scored 12 goals more than United iirc. I think the table massively flattered them.

Nah they just got the wrong one. Slot was the real talent and will prove it elsewhere for sure.
Idk about him tbh but I think doing well in holland really doesn’t prove much about ability to do well in top leagues. The main thing though is he has no personality, no it-factor that successful managers tend to have. I mean would you enjoy your time at work more if Klopp was your boss or Ten Haag?

Problem for United is that a bit like us, nobody wants to pay the money they want for their unwanted players. City, Chelsea...somehow no problem. But United are liable to get saddled, and they can't keep signing players forever, especially with the never-ending "will they, won't they" sale issue in the air. I can't see that they'll be able to do too much in January at all to fix this mess. They were scratching around for us to loan them Reggy at the end of the summer. All is not right up there. And it's great.

Ten Hag is in the absolute mire here, I think. The old boys he's signed have been shit, or been shit and brought unwanted attention. Players that have put something together in the past (Rashford, Fernandes) are having an off one at the worst time. He's alienated a huge signing to the point they've banned him from the canteen. Supported reintegrating Greenwood only to see that also go to shit and they've had to get him out of the country. Can't get the players to play for him, and still no idea from anyone on the outside exactly what they're even trying to play because they won't or can't do it. I just don't see how he turns this around. Looking the definition of a bald fraud, and looking more and more prescient of our own baldy to know one when he saw one.

International break coming up.

If They don't beat Brentford on Saturday I reckon he's gone.

Hojlund looks very lively tbf. 70M was still silly money but he has the potential to become more than worth that.

The rest - LOL

I can't see them making a move right now to be honest. I don't think they have that level of assertiveness.

Questions around ownership, and then the lack of obvious targets.

Interim qppointmemt...OGS would be my guess.

With De Zerbi targeted for next summer.

He was and still is a highly rated keeper but going from the Inter Milan defence/team/structure/head coach to this is a major downgrade in every sense.

It happens to many players, join the wrong team and you can suddenly look like you don't know how to play football.
