I thought they were average last season and relied on a half decent defence. They won 1-0 seven times against some mediocre opposition.

Now they have problems with the back 4 (albeit unlucky with injuries), it’s not surprising their lack of attacking threat is now costing them.

They have an unbalanced, fairly average squad, they’ve bought weirdly - why sign Mount when you have Fernandes? - and I just don’t see a style of play under ten Hag.

All in all, a mess

Also how many other teams had very poor seasons/half seasons. That isn't happening so far this season so highlights their issues more so far.

All the briefing is coming out now, it’s only a matter of time, but I still reckon it’ll drag on a while because the club is rudderless.

Yeah, it sounds like the dressing room may be split and the directors don't really have a clue what they're doing.
With the whole Radcliffe thing hanging around like a bad smell and the amount they've spent on ETH signings, I feel they may hesitate to let him go just yet but it does feel like the writing's on the wall.

It would be a remarkable turn-around if he were to survive the season at this rate.

It'll be interesting to see where they go next because since SAF left, they've pretty much lurched from one mistake to the next, spunking a shit ton of money along the way.

True. Their choice defence is currently out. If Oman’s comes good, then they have a midfield of Casemiro, Eriksen, Rashford, Fernandes, Antony and Hojlund.

1 or 2 signings with the right manager could see a turnaround.
I hear you. But are those players you mention that good?

I personally don't think they are.
Casemiro is average for me. Struggles with the pace of the prem for me.

Eriksen is nowhere near what he once was.

Rashford for me is only average. He's hit over 11 prem goals twice and has never got double figures assists.

Fernandes very inconsistent.

Antony I think is shite.

Hojlund may come good.

Their transfer business has been so bad. There's not one player I'd have in our first 11.

I disagree that Casemiro is average. He was excellent last season. He's struggling this season but if that's due to the injuries and team played around him or his decline has come rapidly, I can't really say.

I don't think they're special but what I have laid out is a good side, one or two up their performances and one or two good signings, and like us they can turn it around.

Yeah all opinions bud.

It's weird when you think how dominant Utd used to be that now I honestly don't think any of their best 11 gets in ours.

Long may it continue!

Now favourite to be next sacked. Given that Sheffield Utd have 1 point from 10 games that is quite an achievement!

What I find interesting is that it seems to me that on the football side under ETH the Glazers are doing what most football fans want their club to do, and it isn't working.

On hiring him, he seemed to have the support of a good percentage of the UTD fans.

They spent over £200m on Casemiro, Antony and Casemiro. All players I believe ETH wanted. How often do we read fans on here saying "pay what it takes to get top targets, no 2nd choices?" This is exactly what Utd did with these players.

This season they've spent big on Hojlund, Mount and Onana, just under £200m.

I don't recall reading in the summer how these were players the manager didn't want.

I'm not saying the Glazers are great but it seems to me ETH has been provided with what he wanted, few clubs would overspend so vastly to get the manager's top choices.

They paid twice for Casemiro ?😂 they overpay on fees and wages. CAs is on some insane wage.

Rashfird has a good season then goes missing

The owners spend, but I think it’s to mask them fleecing the club!

The stadium is leaking, the seats are cracked it’s the butt of man city jokes how bad it is.

Absolutely, like I said, I'm not saying the Glazers are in any way good.

It just seems to me on the football side they've done what most fans want their club to do in regards to paying out to get the manager's top targets.

The fans can rip into the Glazers all they want and think there are deeper issues than the manager. But ETH has been provided with higher quality transfer targets than he'll likely get anywhere else. He has to take a lot of responsibility for this season.

I think his spent 440 million that’s mental

Did you read the gabby interview?

He alluded to the coaches not being in synergy with the scouting department at Spurs under Conte, I think we could argue United have bigger issues in this department

The stadium thing is legitimately the worst thing the Glazers are doing to that club. The seats are cracked, the roof leaks. Forget sporting strategy just for a second, their critical infrastructure is literally falling apart.

They could prob get most of the work done for free by PR and endorsing companies

I dunno, I think he survives for another few months. Unsure whether he deserves it but it's exactly the kind of laboured lazy non-decision United have specialised in for the last decade.

I suspect you're right. The available managers at the moment aren't great, especially when you take away the ones who'd be too savvy to join United in their current predicament and/or wouldn't be interested in joining mid-season.

Would Potter take the job, given what happened with Chelsea? Conte, when he wants to be in Italy? Zidane, when any club job would feel like a comedown from Real?

Why would de Zerbi leave Brighton? How would Frank expect to adapt to the United job when essentially everything about it is the complete antithesis of what he's done at Brentford? Nagelsmann and Southgate are busy until next summer (probably) and Simeone looks set to spend his entire career at Atletico. After that you're onto Michael Carrick or Pochettino, going by the current odds, neither of which seems likely for very different reasons.

The smart thing for United to do is give Ten Hag the time to see if he can turn things around... and be quietly sounding out managers who might be interested in the job come May in the background. As it's United, it'll probably be Solsjkaer as caretaker again by the end of this month, though - that or they dither and faff for a few months until their season is completely unrecoverable.

Yeah Neil Custis or Neil Ashton.
There’s 2 custis’ Neil and shuan, brothers I think both Manc ‘journalists’. Both ****s, world class ****s in fact.

I don’t know if anyone remembers a long way back when zaha made his England debut he said when I go on the pitch I tell myself only messi and ronaldo are better than me. One of them had an article saying only messi and ronaldo are better than me, which zaha called out as bollocks on Twitter or whatever. The other one went in 2 footed character assassination of zaha. Basically a pair of sad sack bullies
