I compare him to Defoe in terms of ability but Defoe was better and more driven.
This will be unpopular but I don’t really agree except for the driven bit.

Rashford - 1 goal every 3.21 PL games
Defoe - 1 every 3.03. His spurs average is pretty much identical

But Defoe only had 30 assists in 496 PL games. Rashford already has 47 in 267.

The truth is they aren’t really comparable as players - Defoe was much more of an out and out striker. But when he’s focused Rashford has just produced more - his 4 best seasons for goal involvements in the PL are 26, 22, 22 and 18, and he’s still only 26. Defoe only has one season over 17 (when he scored 18 and assisted 5 for us in 2009/10, by far his best season).

Defoe was a great guy who gave everything and Rashford seems to be wasting his talent somewhat, but his ceiling is higher

If you're looking any recommendations...happy to give you some.

Enjoy your stay.
Yeah thanks mate. I doubt I'll be doing any sight seeing though, just there for the match then back the next day probably. I'd imagine I'll be staying close to the GBC airport as I believe the ground is pretty close is it not?

Rashford believed the hype and thinks he is bigger than the club. United would be good to get rid of him. Lazy, selfish player who doesn't play for the team. Can see him sinking without a trace.

They will get a new manager and he will have a great season then, next season be shit again after his got a new contract.

its The circle of the rash

Defoe was streaky he scored a tonne at the begging of each season then had a dry spell.

i think he liked the ladies and a party to

but he was a really nice guy and a very underrated player

Yeah not too far away mate, plenty of nice bars in town anyway.

Bring your coat, still pretty nippy here lol

I have never, ever understood the hype around Rashford. Good player on his day but he blows way too hot and cold to be a top player and I'm still not actually sure what he is. He isn't a striker, but when he plays on the wing he won't track back or do any leg work. He's just a floater that occasionally picks up a bit of form.

There seems to be a toxic atmosphere around Man Utd, too many Billy big bollocks who think they've made it too soon and fall by the wayside. Rashford, Greenwood, Sancho, Pogba, Lingard, Ravel Morrison etc. Horrible players to manage. Garnacho may well be the next one, incredibly overrated.

Surely its the club is at fault. Look at our Harry in comparison
I think it is more than that, Harry is a different breed who dedicates himself to the game. Perhaps Harry had to work harder as well to get to where he is.

Could be multiple reasons that Rashford has gone off the rails @Donki has highlighted some areas but who really knows. Would I be motivated to work if I was on 350k a week....I don't know...

I mean in the sense that they have both been players who like to shift and shoot - get shots away.

Defoe couldn't play off the left like Rashford sure. But at the same time Rashford isn't really a creative type, more of a finisher.

I think that’s a huge factor, he’s not a young player anymore, but he has what a 5 year contract on let’s face it discussing wages. But I can see how it would effect your motivation.

United - Goals scored 24. This tells you all you need to know about them this season.

To put it in perspective Luton have scored 4 more goals than United.

So have -
Forest
Brentford
Palace
Bournemouth
Fulham
Wolves

There’s no carrot for Rashford. He’s paid an obscene amount of money, does enough to start for his boyhood club.

He knows he’s next contract won’t be anywhere near the sums he’s getting now, even if he stays at Utd.

If he was on £150k (still massive wages for any footballer) he might be motivated enough to want to go that bit further to get the £300k or what ever he’s on.

Too much too soon, and Utd seem to do it all the time, reward massive wages to players who are already on good wages and aren’t going to leave anyway.

The problem is, they are at the point where if they don't give massive contracts to these guys they will just leave, they are spoilt to the core in terms of hierarchy and it's all ripping at the seams, the players know this first hand. Why else would they stay? They know they could get crazy wages from a PSG or a Real/Barca, look at Bruno, he could probably start on a majority of teams in the world, why stay at United? because they gave him a massive freaking contract that no one else barring oil clubs/Real and Barca could swing

I think some of you must be saints the way you go on. As far as I know the whole club is an absolute shambles from top to bottom, the manager has the personality of a lettuce and Rashford may have gone out on the beers?

I remember Super Jan pretty much downing tools towards the end of the AVB era, so a toxic atmosphere can affect anyone.

As for Rashford, he's not worth £350k a week or whatever, but then nobody is, it's insane money.

The size and obsession of their fanbase / worldwide following gives off a false impression that they can do / get away with anything. Yes the size of wages are obscene but once you get past a certain level the money doesn't actually mean anything, it's all about status. Does Mbappe really need £1m/wk (LINK) or is it a bout the status of being the top earner.

Youth players have been told since they were 8 that they're special and the best in the world by agents and hangers on. They'll have been given watches, cars, clothes, 98% of what they want through various sponsorships or people wanting to be seen to have a connection to them. They'll go on a night out, free entry to any club, straight into VIP, free drinks and girls throwing themselves at their feet.

You can see how they build a misguided sense of entitlement. Some players if they're well managed by the club can be shielded from this (look at the likes of Harvey Elliot before getting into the first team compared to his public persona now).
