ffs there are a load of miserable whingers on here

everyone new the rules at the start of the season - fact
we blew our chance of finishing third - fact
loads were saying how they wished that we would finish 3rd, with Scum 4th and missing out on CL if Chelski won - fact
chelski by winning CL, even if much was anti-football in both semi + final, deserve the chance to defend trophy - fact

we now just have to get on with it, planning for the future and ensuring similar mistakes not made next season
there may be changes in personnel, but the nucleus of a good side will remain. By investing, and perhaps selling, wisely, we could actually end up with a stronger squad with players who want to be here.

after yesterday we now know exactly what next season holds and where we are - we now need to get on with the planning and implementation

The real point, in fact the only point is if we actually have any legal case that could be successful.....I'd say the answer to that sadly is no

We can try if LEvy likes, but I am afraid I can't see it leading to anything more than wasted time, money and egg on our face

Like I said, the only way we will see is if, as the Journo has suggested, Levy gets real legal experts (which I'm definitely not), on it. I think there is a case to be made, and my feeling is strengthened by the points made by the Journo (who covered some angles I hadn't thought of). You don't think there is a case to be made.

Either way, the next one of us to see Roman Abramovich in the street should give him a hefty kick in the jeehosephers

Some of the comments in this thread have made me laugh. Anyone that thinks we deserve the CL place over Chelsea is barking in my opinion. The winner of the champions league is much more worthy of a place in the competition than someone who finishes 2nd, 3rd or 4th.

Yes it hurts and it's horrible that we missed out, but we knew the rules and we knew what would happen if we didnt finish 3rd. We just need to man up and have another go at it next year.

If you have read your thread and you believe that the major issue is that folk don't think Chelsea deserve to not defend the CL, then you have understood nothing of the arguement (in which case it would have been better if you had held off from laughing).

Everybody knew that Liverpool (or any englsih club, for that matter) wouldn't be eligible to defend the title if they won it but finished outside the top 4 - but they still whinged they way into it (and not at Everton's expense, either). Did knowing that make any difference to the whinging, then, or to the decision to throw them a lifeline?

SP you are talking out of yopur a**e and you know it.

It was as a direct result of the Liverpool scenario that we find ourselves in the position we are today. UEFA had not had the forethought to think what might happen if such a thing happened as with Liverpool, and changed the competition rules as a result after that season. We are the unfortunates, but we have to get on with it

Fuck me, this Agent ITK knob on twitter saying we are going to do something, now I have an annoying Chelsea fan texting me thinking everyhting he says is true and laughing at us. Makes me laugh because he acts like its not their fault when I said "I wouldn't have wanted you scum to win CL even if it didn't have an effect on us" but now he is just going on and on.

He knows fuck all about their history too.

Its not the major issue, but there are some comments that say they dont deserve it. That's why i said "Some of the comments in this thread" not all or the majority of them.

Yeah...you're right...it's like Jazz-speak...stream-of-consciousness...speaking in tongues...

Funnily enough, the point you have made here, is one of the many points I have made in this thread - UEFAFA had not the forethought to think what might happen if the Liverpool scenario recurred, and all they did was focussed on allowing the CL winners to defend their title, and didn't think, at all, of the huge implications of the club they were comdeming to miss-out, after legitimately qualifying.

But, there again, they were other arguements, too.

Its not the major issue, but there are some comments that say they dont deserve it. That's why i said "Some of the comments in this thread" not all or the majority of them.

My bad :)

What these events should teach us is that we need to spend the money on players , not solicitors .

Just a thought, would UEFA compensate us for the revenue lost from not being in the Champs League if we pushed? Whats the monetary difference between the 2 competitions?
