Daniel Levy believes Tottenham will become "one of the biggest clubs in the world", despite escalating costs at their new billion-pound stadium. Levy claims rival clubs are looking at Tottenham with a view to improving their own match-day experience for supporters.

To be fair to Levy, he's delivered on the stadium, let's hope he provides Poch with the tools to deliver on the pitch.

Quote from Christopher Lee, the architect:

"We had cameras on our website [updating progress] so with an iPad you can zoom in, take a snap and say 'why isn't that done or why isn't that working?'

"We trained all the staff and every time we saw something we weren't happy with, an email would go around!"

Which leaves me wondering why the fuck didn't you pick up on the problems that delayed the opening for six months?

Well done Mr Chairman!

I am sure this quote does not surprise many - "As a human being I'm a perfectionist, which is a problem for some of the people who have to work with me!

Likely root cause of several transfers that have gone awry when a dose of healthy pragmatism is what was required.

I have said this several times over the year - I personally think that we have a lot to thank Daniel Levy for.

From the dark days of the 90s where a fancy dribble or clever pass would be what we would consider highlights of a game in a dingy stadium that we, an ageing mismanaged team, more often than not lost - to these days. A world class training facility with a top youth team and a world class stadium all cleverly financed and integrated with local community development and initiatives. A coach fully tuned into the clubs objectives - particularly youth development. We are playing in the Champions League with regularity, giving teams in the premier league (which are owned by countries) a tough battle for top positions, and the future looks very bright .

Mr. Levy, a salute of gratitude and respect from a fan who has seen the dark days. A top astute business leader in a very volatile industry. Always has us punching well above our weight.

Other people share this view. Watch this video from 3:50 onwards. These are people who know what they are talking about.

No one can ever knock Levy for what he has done infustructure wise for the club. Apsloutley amazing job and he deserves all the congratulations he is getting.

However to back up his words about being one of the biggest clubs in the world he now has to back Potch up and deliver in the transfer market. Let last summer be a lesson you cannot afford to stand still off the pitch as it allows your rivals to catch up with you.

As Potch said yesterday it’s a massive summer coming up

I can just picture Levy finishing that sentence with a 'Mwa ha ha ha"
While stroking a white cat.
Bet he says 'vorld' instead of 'world' as well lol.

I don't think that we are going to become a Real Madrid type club overnight - i.e. the 100 million pound 28-29 year old player. Which is what Arsenal became in a somewhat panic stricken fashion (Aubameyang, Lacazzette etc. - though it actually seems to be paying off for them now). We will still be looking for the 22-23 year old player who can be moulded into the Spurs philosophy.

Having said that, there will definitely have to be some immediate upgrade to players like Lamela, Aurier, Davies, Sissoko, Wanayama and Trippier to take us to the next level. Toby will probably go, Eriksen has probably already left, Lloris needs to be upgraded. We are 3 - 4 quality upgrades away from real silverware competitors and I dont mean Messi, Neymar etc. - probably ... to be honest I don't know. A good discussion topic...

We have the best stadium in the world, no point having that if it is not backed by one of the best teams in the world to play in it. We are heading in the right direction and have been for a number of years now. Solid investment in the team is now what is most definitely required. I am an optimist so I think this will now start to happen.

Imagine having a top quality well fitted out swanky London restaurant but with a shitty chef making food in it - nobody will be bothered about the place just cos it looks nice. If what is being served in it is not top quality then you won't wanna go back.
