I hope Pochetttinho finds a place for Holtby in our squad, I really can't understand why he was loaned his work rate and quality IMO seems ideal for the style of football we want to play instead of Paulinho or Capoue.

I honestly think it was just down to squad size - we couldn't accomodate all our foreign players - and he was the one that we got offers for and that was prepared to move to get game time.

I think what you say is very true.

Additionally, and unfortunately, whilst I like his energy I think he can be a bit of a headless chicken at times. Poch does like to play a high energy game but Schneiderlin's comments this week about Poch requiring a lot of defensive discipline seems to fly in the face of the idea that the midfield pair are there simply to close players down.

I hope Holtby can come back and develop as a member of the squad but I'm not holding my breath. It would only mean restricted time for Pritchard, Alli and Onomah next season

Not necessarily if these guys show themselves to be good enough they will surpass him in the pecking order.
