Surprised that this news seems to have passed relatively unnoticed. Maybe that speaks of the waning enthusiasm for wee Tommy who broke onto the scene quite a while back - remember, he's only 22! Swansea seem like a sensible choice for him, on the proviso that he plays fairly regularly. He'll have Leon Britton's spot in no time.

Good luck sir!

he wont get a game!... saw him Monday night in the u/21's & the game bypassed him!..
dare I say young harry winks looked a far more accomplished player.

Swansea might be a tappy tappy type team but I cant see tommy anywhere near there first team on that
performance..
he's only 22.... so is ericksen!

There's a thread for Carroll in the Loan section.

Tries to play the ball on the deck but simply not good enough. Not even good enough for Swansea never mind us, unfortunately might I add!

You may be right, but if he can not get into the Swansea team then he will not make it here.

i'd already come to terms that he wasn't good enough for the premiership!.. I would loved to be proved wrong but if your not even near the first team at 22 even at our heddy heights i'd be looking to step down for regular first team football to progress my career.. he'd still make a fantastic living at a lower level.

I agree, he looked promising and i am hoping he steps up at Swansea but if he does not then at least he will be in the shop window for other clubs.

And once again not everyone peaks at the same age...what was In Iniesta doing at 22?

I agree with you point but Iniesta won the CL at 22, a great example would be:
Pirlo - wasn't a first team player for milan until he was 23(before that was at loan for a couple of clubs and sold by inter for a false profit)
Drogba - didnt sign a pro contract till he was 21 and didnt play for a decent team till he was 25
Stam - was 24 before he played for a decent dutch team
Senna - was 26 before he was in the Villarreal team

He won't get clogged as much in the Premier League.

Great move, hopefully he'll be able stay fit.

It is easy to say, but if Tom believed in himself as much as many of we do then we might still get a top player. Its all in the mind with him IMO. He needs to look at Wilshere, and closer to home Bentaleb.
I think he is under contract until 2016 on £10k per week.

Yup. Always been the case. Needs to just acknowledge his talent and believe in himself.

I'm a bit conflicted on this. As Prem teams go it's prob style wise the best option, but looking at their squad I still don't think he will get many ops.

My preference for him would of been a loan to a more technical league. Maybe a lower Seria A or La Liga team. Even a 2nd div team from those countries. Either way that loan move to QPR seems like a majorly wrong decision last year. Not because it was the Championship but because their style just didn't suit him!

I think we might be surprised by his progress in their team. Their passing/possession game is well developed and I think he'll slot right in.

The kid has just gotta get over that line and properly believe in himself.

Cannot believe our best player has been sent out on loan. Unbelievable!

(Sarcasm is either the lowest form of wit or the highest form of intelligence. I will leave you to decide which is correct...)

P.S What the fuck is everyone complaining about AGAIN?

Seriously, another win-win situation for one of our development players and some 'fans' still complain.
