If they play that three at the back we need to really press them. Mistakes waiting to happen.

Especially Sakho. Looking at their team, Gerrard and Henderson wont offer great protection to the back 3 either, I think we can get goals there, it's more a question of if we can keep it tight at the back

Poch has spoken:

"We trained on Sunday and started preparations," said Mauricio.

"It’s a short time between games, but we are ready. This is football. We are focused, we have good energy and we will prepare knowing that we need to be ready on Tuesday for another tough game.

"Liverpool are in a good moment, they have very good players and we need to be ready to compete."

Fired up for this now, omg I hope we smash them, but still id be content with a 1-0 victory (or even a draw) lol

just hope that the Pool players come into this a little bit overconfident. nullify them for the first 20 mins, and then our fitness will be the difference.

I've just got this feeling that we're going to turn them over tonight. Obviously its a hard game, what game in the premiership isn't tbh? But I just think the tide is with us right now, and Liverpool are not that good a team. Sterling is overrated for me, and Lucas is a hapless footballer. Sturridge and Allen will actually strengthen them imo. But I just think it's setup for them to take a fall, and for once it's not us.

Our team is strong right now. I agree with Chadli for Lamela as well.

I just hope we don't go all Spursy, we have a habit of that when a place in the top 4 (3rd i think if we win tonight) is available.

To be honest not seen much of us or them so can't really speak about form.

Anyway COYS!

Yep a win tonight would put us third with Utd and Southampton playing tomorrow.

As for Liverpool glad that Lukas and Sterling are out would quite fancy it at the lan but up there they still have enough to hurt us as Coutinho and Markovc have looked good lately. We cant dive in in the box as these buggers like a Penalty...I have seen them a few times and IMHO their best performance was against us. They havent really set the cups alight this year in the games I have seen but like someone said they like to turn it on against us...like the weekend its heard to call...if we play that again we have a chance.

We keep hearing about Liverpool's fine form of late, but as has been pointed out, they've played a lot of terrible teams and haven't really been tested. Despite all their arrogance, Pool fans will be extremely nervous about us.

They played pretty well in 2 legs against Chelsea and despite losing I thought they were very very dangerous...

They`ve actually been playing better in games without Gerrard in the team and Henderson is much better when he plays centrally, he`s a busy little git much like Mason. Hope we don`t underestimate them. I think Sakho is the weak link in the style they play, we should press him as much as possible and put his rather suspect touch to the test.

He's a very lairy, aggressive character - think we should do our best to wind him up.

I fancy us tonight think we'll be solid at the back and we have players to expose Can going forward.

No doubt Mason will have a go at him in that regard, but Henderson brings energy to their midfield and they are definitely better when he plays in there.

Like us, they will give it their all until the final whistle. I expect it to be a battle of attrition, and would be happy to come away with a point. We are more than capable of coming away with all 3.

Well going by recent results vs Pool:

5-0 (H)
4-0 (A)
3-0 (H)
I am going to predict 2-0 loss.

Apparently if you did a league table since the Adebayor bust up we'd be top.
Kaboul & Adebayor out of the squad & Lloris as captain.
I'm sure there are loads of other explanations, but the connection looks a bit too much to be mere coincidence. Hopefully the rotten start to the season won't hurt the overall standings too much. It would be lovely to revenge the home defeat from WHL tonight.
