Technically both can be guilty of diving although in reality they are both very different. Suarez is at his heart and core, throughout everything he is and ever will be; a cheat. Bale is a bit of a ponce. Most of the times he gets booked he has actually been caught but because he's a bit of a fairy he actually manages to make a foul look like a dive. He's also very easy to take down with minimal contact because of his height and running style, which sometimes makes it look like hes not been touched. There are times he goes down when he hasn't been touched however but I don't think it's him trying to cheat. He's too quick for players, knows he's going to get caught and being a ponce takes his weight of the leg to prevent him getting clattered badly. He's so far ahead of the game he premeditates the contact and if the defender pulls out of the leg-breaking challenge then suddenly he ends up looking like a diving ****. It looks really bad because he ends up on his way down before there would be any contact rather than half a step after. Where he beat a keeper to the ball outside the box and went down despite not being touched is a good example from a season or two back. If the keeper hadn't pulled out of the tackle at the last moment his leg would have needed retrieving from the street outside. He will also knock the ball and use his body to draw a foul like Rooney or other top pro's do for example but I don't think bale is a cheat. Suarez is.

where has all the love for Gareth gone?

I rarely disagree with your sensible posts, but I do here. I don't recall him getting the ball, but he did clumsily bump into him. I agree that Suarez did what Suarez does (and that clouds the issue), and while I am not one of these 'there was contact so it was a foul' merchants, in this case, it was a foul. I have no issue with the penalty being awarded.
TBF, I thought exactly the same yesterday but I've seen a gif around these here parts *spits into spitoon* and it looks like Benny's shoulder knocks the ball out.

I'm not disagreeing with you or the others anyway about the pen being given. Benny didn't exactly seem confident about the whole thing with the way he challenged. Either commit to the challenge or leave it. It was clumsy and gave everyone an easy out.

Try and cut out the funky chicken dances in the box, Benny. There's a love.

Re Benny - I don't think AVB will put up with any player playing moody silly buggers for as long as H did.

Not gone anywhere :) . I'd been the one posting up all the gifs and and Bale love back before he went on this ridiculous goal scoring run, whilst people were still slating him!!!!! Nothing wrong with valid criticism here and there. Same with AVB, I bigged him up whilst the whole #AVBout campaign was in full swing but now if I make a valid criticism on tactics people get the pitch forks out. This forum is completely daft at times

Cheers anyway, al.

Right, I'm leaving this thread and forgetting about this game. It is dead to me.

One guy thinks Verts should have been sent off for a blatant hand ball!

At the time i thought it was, but on the replay it clearly strikes his shoulder. Now, if that is classed as handball the fair enough, but i was under impression the top part of the shoudler was legal?

"To the game, Spurs are a better side than I thought and I agree with Kev that they're the best side I've seen at Anfield this season. They've got skill and power and at the start of the second half they overran our midfield with both"

Lol, that moment when you quote a Liverpool fan from a Liverpool forum but get you given the disagree. Cheers mate.

Haven't kept up with the thread, but was Ade still injured? I would play him over Defoe any day of the week, atleast when neither of them does jack all Ade *can* win a header and help defend corners.

Was at the game sitting right next to our away support, it was amazing. You guys gave me goose bumps singing the Verthongen song.
