16.21 GOAL - Liverpool 1-0 Tottenham - Luis Suarez (21 mins)
A wonderful, wonderful goal from Liverpool ends the drought in style. Philippe Coutinho starts it with a deft little flick inside, he then links up neatly with Jose Enrique and the left-back feeds Luis Suarez perfectly. The striker has nothing to aim at but pokes the ball first-time into the near post as Hugo Lloris comes out. A goal worthy of missing a roast for...
16:45 GOAL - Liverpool 1-1 Tottenham - Jan Vertonghen
Gareth Bale is able to carry on after that knock and he finds Spurs a leveller. Nobody closes him down quickly enough, and the Welsh wizard puts a peach of a cross right on the head of Jan Vertonghen, and he buries it from close range at the Kop end.
HALF-TIME - Liverpool 1-1 Tottenham
17:11 GOAL - Liverpool 1-2 Tottenham - Jan Vertonghen
The Belgians are taking over the world! Jan Vertonghen gets his second of the day. Gareth Bale's free-kick is not dealt with at all, it just hits Daniel Agger on the face and bounces out, and Vertonghen adjusts his feet brilliantly to crash in a left-footed shot from 10 yards. Really well finished.
17:14 Yellow Card -Jan Vertonghen
17:18 GREAT SAVE! - Liverpool 1-2 Tottenham
Spurs are flying now. This is the form they showed against Inter in midweek, and Liverpool are hanging on to the ropes here. Mousa Dembele again just walks away from two or three challenges before smashing in a shot which nearly lifts Brad Jones off his feet. Someone stop the Belgians...
17:24 GOAL - Liverpool 2-2 Tottenham - Stewart Downing
A comedy of errors! First, Kyle Walker plays a horrendous backpass from the halfway line, a shocker. It's like Craig Burley in the FA Cup semi-final in 1995, smashing it blindly back towards goal. Second, Hugo Lloris comes flying out of his goal and gets nowhere near it, allowing Stewart Downing in. Third, Downing for some reason shoots straight at Jan Vertonghen on the line when he had the whole goal to aim at, but it goes through the defender's legs and in. Disaster zone all round.
17:40 PENALTY TO LIVERPOOL- Liverpool 2-2 Tottenham
Luis Suarez goes down in the area! Benoit Assou-Ekotto is rash, jumping into Suarez as he nods the ball on and a penalty is given...
17:40 GOAL - Liverpool 2-2 Tottenham -Steven Gerrard
Steven Gerrard steps up and slots the ball into the corner, sending Hugo Lloris the wrong way. Superb comeback from Liverpool.
17:45 PENALTY APPEAL - Liverpool 3-2 Tottenham
Tottenham continue with the self harm as Jan Vertonghen takes a heavy touch inside the penalty area, Glen Johnson nips in to stab the ball away from him and he goes to ground. Vertonghen has a nervous look at the referee but there's nothing given on this occasion. Last few minutes now...

Jamie Carragher, on his 500th premier league appearance, plays spurs for the final time. He has scored 3 premier league goals for each side. Will he finish tomorrow having tipped the balance one way or t'other is what I want to know...

It would be a fantastic way to sign off with Carragher scoring one final own goal for us.

Massive game for us. Liverpool have improved recently and with Gerrard's improved form, the signing of Sturridge and Suarez translating his ability into effectiveness they have some goals in them.

They had good possession against us at WHL but not the ability to create much danger.

But then we are looking much better as well since we last met.

Our defensive record is superb and we have the players to hit quickly on the counter.

It could go either way.

BBLG does not understand why hugrrr gut a funny rating for his post which merely ripped off mine two posts earlier.

The scousers have been really improving of late.nervous that Sturridge is back and he does score against us. Really hope Lennon is back, we need those 3 bloody point...Just hope Bale carries on scoring, but it's going to be tough, really tough..... CoYS
