My take would be 6 months goes (Dier), 6 months comes (Kelly)

Both have 6 months left on their contracts and one is going and one is coming.

Presume it is saying in Bournemouth hands. We get him for free in 6 months if they are silly or a fee in January.

Yeah thats my reading also. It is a odd one, if Davies wasn't injured i would wonder if we necessarily need Kelly as I actually think Davies is better as a LCB in this system. Not only that he has been really good recently and he is supposedly a big presences in the dressing room so extending his contract for a year or two wouldn't have been the worst move IMO but i guess at 30 one should look towards the future. Does also make you wonder if Phillips or Dorrington will ever get a chance. But all that aside Kelly does look like a good player, HG and will probably fit the system well. I do worry about his injury issues tho, last thing we need is another injury prone player.

Been a very solid performer in CB and for the money you get Vs home grown there's no point in selling him.

Players like Diet and Hojbjerg that don't fit the system are ahead on the list of outs for me.

FWIW, as I said, info for me is very quiet currently apart from when I get chance to speak to my mate and I haven't spoken to him about Kelly since the Summer, but I quoted my post as I was told in the Summer we would look at him again in Jan as he was very keen on joining us.

Ange wants him and he is desperate to join. He was gutted in the Summer when it didn't materialise but with his injury issues and 6 months left, it's literally a perfect storm for us to snap him up on the cheap. Romero, VdV, Dragusin and Kelly is some turnaround re our CB options. Kelly can also cover LB so that's another added bonus. Exciting times

I'm not saying we shouldn't get Kelly, just saying we shouldn't overlook how reliable Davies has been this season.

Can Kelly actually cover LB in our system? Is he good enough on the ball to play in the narrow areas, resist pressure and progress the ball?

Covering LB for us is wildly different to covering it at other clubs due to our system.
