So we've played 28 games already, if we get to the final of every competition we'll play 65, I think, and FA cup replays could take it to 69 :lol: but seriously, I think this shows that we need a few squad players in the window, in addition to class players to improve the quality of the squad.

Tonight was an example of how thin the squad is, we're not overloaded with injuries, but the injuries raelly crippled the squad.

In addition to Defoe, I want to see cover brought in in defence, midfield and attack, because the fixture pile up could really test our squad.

i'd rather have players like ghaly getting games than going out and signing more ''squad'' players..

ghaly, tarabt, gunter , huddlestone, obika, bostock, quite happy with the quality of the squad players. should be looking at signing five or six first teamers and sell a couple of misfits, i.e bent, boateng

Pav's going to be knackered by the end of the season having played a full season already without a break.

The thing is we don't need players to save us from relegation but if we want to compete in all competitions we'll need a few extras although like someone before mentionned we do have good players like O'Hara, Campbell and Ghaly not getting a look in.

We've played 30 games so far. If we got to every final and didn't need a replay that's another (18 + 17) 35 games but we are only certain of (18 + 5) 23 games at the moment (Burnley and Shakhtar are not to be taken lightly).
I would be happy to see Arshavin and other 'fantastic' players at the Lane. But if it doesn't happen I'm sure we could manage and it would be the perfect opportunity to give the younger players a chance; I'd love to see more of Gunter, Giovanni, Taarabt, Bostock, Parrett, Rose, Smith, Mason and Jansson; oh and Ghaly (but he's not young).
